This ^^^^^^^^. We'd need a 2-team squad, Plus.... Europa teams seem to play twice a week and it wears 'em out.
Oh ****, no mate, it's my bad. Oh well, it's not the first time iv'e ****ed up, and it wont be the last. Unreserved apologies.
Also could we not use this awful expression, We don't know where it came from but we don't like it. Best regards, The Grammar Police
Don't understand people that don't want to play in Europe, our club has no real successful history so playing Milan/Inter/Porto/Atletico etc. in competitive games would be huge for us. It could also be a big factor in bringing in new players next season. It will give us an edge over Villa/Swansea/West Ham etc. in attracting new talent.
Home and away fixtures against the 3rd best team in Moldova won't be all it's cracked up to be. What's more, I certainly wouldn't take that over a full and fresh squad week in week out, for a concerted crack at next years premier league. Let's stuff the Arse.
Exactly fatty never mind all this who wants to just come 17th every year, we're going to win the ****er one year, why not next year.
Yeah, afterall, Portsmouth have continued to go from strength to strength after winning the FA Cup, attracting star players and playing in Europe. Let's follow their model.
No. Why would you ever want to lose a game? Even for tactical reasons. We either rise or fall through own endeavours and not via some match fixing shenanigans.
Split minds about Europa League - it really does seem to have a detrimental affect on those who qualify without the resources. But sometimes, you just gotta take it on the chin and think 'at least I've seen Hull City play in Europe'... compare it to the days at Boothferry and trips to Moldova etc won't seem so bad. I can't really see us qualifying for Champs league for many a year so probably closest we'll get. However, qualifying for Europa by not winning the FA cup would be rubbish and undeserved... similar to my feelings of playing a semi at Wembley. Winning the FA Cup on the other hand would be the greatest thing that had ever happened on the pitch for our club - its an exclusive and prestigious club that no amount of relegations/takeovers etc etc could take away.
my suggestion we have a crack at the premier league didn't refer to winning the bugger. I'm thinking 50+ pts would be adequate progress.
FFS we try to win the bloody cup and if we do we deserve to play in Europe Whatever Arsenal & Everton do is their problem Wigan will fancy their semi now anyway
Beating Everton will solve 4th place i reckon - Arse "should" get maximum points and i see Everton dropping points in their final 2 games as for Europa , i'd love us to be in it , but am too a bit concerned that the squad won't cope with the extra games .
Forget Arsenal and concentrate on Sheffield utd instead, both Wigan and Sheffield will fancy there chances Lets maul um
I would love to see Hull City in Europe. We might not quite have the squad for it, but who would of thought we even have the chance of competing in Europe ten years ago. We may never get a chance again, lets grab it with both hands.
