So Palacios was played to limit the score to a more acceptable level? I respect your view ,because you are a true supporter who follows them everywhere, but don`t you think he`s a liability because of his lack of mobility, especially against a team with pace in midfield?
Hi Joe, I do not know if you read my summary later in in the thread. My response to you was not one of my best as I did nor explain in full. At home I am sure that Palacios will be on the bench with Whelan, N'Zonzi Ireland or Adam playing. I am not suggesting that Palacios plays to keep the score down. If you managed to see the Villa, Palacios played there just in front of the back four and after the first 5 minutes played very well. It was also possibly the first time he has played 90 minutes. Villa although they beat Chelsea the other week, are not in the same class had neither the speed nor class or control of Chelsea. Hughes wanted to protect the back four and for Palacios to play this role. To be honest Palacios was overrun in the first half and if you look at the first goal Chelsea scored the central midfield were AWOL. At half time Hughes needed to change and probably his best option to create a goal was Adam. So in summary, playing Palacios I do not see was keeping the score down. Cheers
Chris I see the point you`re making,my point is that I think he was expecting too much of him, because as you say there`s a huge difference between Villa and Chelsea, and he`s got no legs, I just don`t rate him at all!! However it`s all about opinions, and as I said I respect yours
I dont rate Palacious much either tbh, he wouldnt be in my starting 11, no speed no stamina and they nickname him the crab because he always passes sideways
