    Smog has been around since the 1800's.

    It's also not unusual for the planet to be quite windy now and then. Particulates have always been air borne.

    yet another non-story.

    Airborne particulates have risen dramatically in many of the world's cities, in particular, rapidly developing economies, they are extremely noxious and hazardous. The build up of pollutants occurs in STILL CONDITIONS (and without rain). If its windy, this disperses particulates, along with London's transportational pollution and the dust particles that in turn attract water -ie fog/smog.

    In the absence of wind, pollutants also become attracted to water droplets and dust, further concentrating it to potentially dangerous levels.

    I thought you hippy ****s were all for de-urbanisation? - you even suggested that we let Africans die because there are two many humans on Earth? What do you think a planet with less humans on it looks like, central London?
