If we can't beat a team of Liverpool rejects managed by some fat ****er we simply don't deserve the title. Keep the supply to Carroll limited and we'll win. Give them chances to knock constant balls in to the box we'll struggle. Basically Gerrard and Hendo need to both have a good game. I'd be tempted to play Sakho tbh. Let our firepower do the rest. BOOOM.
Seems like ages since we last played. Not been confident about this one as the pressure is off West Ham an very much on us. I should probably have more faith really!
Its really hard to decide what tactics to use for this game. West Ham play with a low defensive line and 10 men behind the ball, but playing same formation as we did against Spurs, away from home to West Ham could hurt us as West Ham winning many games recently. I guess we should go back to diamond formation
Sakho is the right type of player, but I'd be a bit concerned about his lack of game time. For all that we're bigging him up, we haven't really seen much of him.
I tend to agree, the question is do we play Ford or Sterling in the number 10 role. Sterling just coming off the back of a MOTM, and Ford getting it the week before (I think). I'd start with Ford and bring Sterling on with 30 to go to inject some pace. I guess the beauty of having Rodgers is he's an expert at changing formations to suit different styles. We don't just have a plan B, but we have a Plan C and D too
True - It's a risk, but I haven't been overly impressed with Agger recently, he seems to have lost something about his game. I'm sure Rodgers will stick to Agger and Skrtel but Sakho must be a tempting option.
I agree, I've said for a while that Agger, though good with the ball at his feet, isn't aggressive enough for me. So in a game against a (theoretically) strong, bullying CF then Sakho is more the type of player I'd go for. It's just that he's hardly played and if Donkey is up for it, it might be in at the deep end for him. Still, it depends what BR has seen from him in training, and whether he thinks Sakho's ready. We need to limit the supply to AC, so it will need a fairly disciplined performance from the FBs.
We've got the RedCafu playing so hopefully no crosses will come in from the right....or left depending which side he plays. Johnson needs a good game too, saying that he's not been too bad recently.
Agger has been poor individually but he organises the defence. He brings the best out of Flanno and Skrtel and it is no coincidence that he has started in most of the games where we have kept clean sheets. He is vocal - it's not has noticeable as a Carra who is screaming like a mad man. But he constantly talks to the defence.
I like Agger, I think he brings a lot to the team, but like I said, he needs to be more aggressive and attack the ball more, imo. Skrtel has never seen a ball he doesn't like, and despite his occasional cock-up I think that attitude is vital. Not having a go at Danny, though- I think he's a good player overall.
I know what you mean, I'm a massive Sakho fan but I fear taking Agger out of the defence will only disrupt it further because Agger has a massive influence (off the ball)...
I really don't rate Agger and I would rather have Sakho starting in that position, but right now I agree with Jimmy in that doing so now would just disrupt the team. Don't change a winning team.
trust in SAS... best of luck to the red men. hope nolan plays awful and scores two own goals for his boyhood clubs cause Off to a 50th. not happy.... not even finest curry made in western hemisphere can console me having to piss the wife off by leaving early to see the game. I love here but i am not going to pull a luv and feel bad... i am going to east the curry at 3pm, leave to watch the match and not feel the slightest bit guilty.... like rodgers says tackle it in bite size pieces... curry, match.. then if there's a fight there's a fight but focus on the game first.
