Can we just sign him please, on a one year contract, before others sniff around. But remarkable that our turn of fortune came when he got match fit.

Needs to be offered a 1 year with a possible carrot of a second year.

To be fair to those who knocked the signing of WE, it was probably because we have seen so many players in their mid to late 30's come with good reputations come to us and been awful, and clearly only here for the pay check (Morris, Shorey,John, Hunt) to name but a few, that we just expected another. Thankfully WE is performing to the level expected of him and is still hungry so I agree with the calls on here to give him a 12 month contract at the end of the season.

Cotterill seems to send a lot of instructions onto the pitch via Elliott

Agree that we should offer him a deal

    A deal ?
    Make him captain.
At 35 he is playing like his skin depends on it because he is now counting the matches, has looked after himself, and he genuinely enjoys playing football.

Since he's got match fit he looks a diamond for L1 - RODney was right all along<smooch>.

Reads it well, sees a pass FORWARD which we haven't seen since Hartley.

Proper footballer, just wish he was 25 not 35 but could certainly do an excellent job next season.

Elliot and Pack could be the CM business next season.
Pack was excellent yesterday shielding the CHs, especially from their keeper's kicks.

Kelly will be back for next season, and he will be hard to budge. Funny you should mention Hartley, because I also thought about that comparison. He was at the final curtain too, but unlike Elliot, looked it. In fact Elliott looks closer to Stevie G right now
Elliot offers us something that Pack and Kelly rarely do - incisive and instinctive forward play.
Those 3 making up our midfield next season will mean we can unload some of our less convincing options
    (e.g Pearson, Wynter)
And the garden is starting to bloom again

No, because Kilkenny never did look like he meant it, whereas Kelly was the business before he got injured.

Kelly is a far superior player to NK, and a decent pre-season will see him back to his best

He still looks good, so I'd be happy to see him get another contract.

I'd probably go one further, and look towards tying him down to the coaching setup, with an offer of a two year contract with the option of him getting his coaching badges, should be want to go into coaching once his playing days are over. This way, he gets to end his career on his own terms, and gets a nice job in familiar surroundings once he decides to call it a day.

Liam Kelly is still far from the finished product, and I think we all knew that when we signed him. He was a key player for us, but he still needs a full season with us to really become the kind of player we require. He'll be solid for us in League 1, and he may become a decent Championship player with some more game time.

I thought, like Logger, that Kelly struggled in the Championship - but few didn't.

Still, fingers crossed with a full pre-season he might play with the likes of Pack and Elliot in CM.

I hope that Genius we have in charge won't find a place for Gillett in CM.
And ElAbd a place in defence.

    But he will.
