Been a pretty **** start for Red Bull though even if they're up there now. 1 driver can barely have a working car like his team mate and the other has a working car but can barely get any luck with pit stops or fuel flow like his team mate.

I'm getting sick of Bernie Ecclestone and Red Bull moaning about the new rules. They're acting like children, we've had 2 races and already they want change? It's seriously getting annoying now.

The fia should force through a rule. Either fit a 1ltr drinks bottle or 5 kg of ballast. Sooner or later someone's going to faint at the wheel.

funny how it's not so easy to join in with the complaining when it's your favourite driver with an absurd car advantage, huh? Such a predictable season, right down to the flip-flopping fans.

So what's the point of the Bahrain night race when it's 2 hours past the usual European start time? Is it catering for the Atlantic ocean?

I was only saying that they're complaining about the new rules too soon and every week for that matter. It wouldn't matter who was winning, if one team is doing a better job than others then it's up to them do something about it and not complain and make excuses. If Red Bull were winning then there would be no complaints at all from them.

That's what I was thinking if they really wanted a spike in the ratings they should of had the race start at 8pm local like it is for Singapore which would mean a 6pm start for us which is the time races in America usually start and they often get some of the highest viewing figures of the season. I imagine a 4pm start will make little difference to how many people actually watch.

I think we all know where this conversation will end, as we all know everyone's reaction to the Red Bull domination only last year and the heavily used lines over the years of: "cheating" and "exploiting the rule book" with a dash of "the FIA are letting RBR get away with it". This with the constant silver bullet finding to discredit performances of the team but mostly the drivers because all fanboys suffer with a superiority complex in that their driver can never be beaten if on equal terms.

So I will now impose Westy's law!

But I do agree with BIL that it's far too early to start changing the rules, but lets not forget how bad RBR have been treated by rivals in the past, it comes with the territory of being the best... ENJOY!

It will somewhat play into the hands of those who believe the FIA love RBR and Ferrari if the rules get changed any time soon. Years of domination by those two with little done to stop it. 2 races of domination by someone else and for the first time in forever there's talk of a mid-season major rule change......

Why is consistency in this sport so hard? From stewarding to major rules <doh>

I know some people might not agree with this but I think Will Buxton has hit the nail on the head. Where were the consistent complaints from Red Bull and co before we went racing? I know De Montezemelo made some comments last year, but it's convenient the likes of Newey are complaining constantly now as opposed to when we first had the rules drafted.

maybe they know it'll be impossible to close such an engine gap so in terms of development there's literally nothing they can do about it. Removing all their front wing elements shows how desperate they are. Also the gap is so large Mercedes will probably be the first team to start working on their car for next year as well, just widening the gap further. After all the hype about the competitive exciting racing at the front there's isn't dick happening, they've seemingly just gimped all the cars and ended up in the same scenario, i can't see it reviving interest in the sport, i'm not sure i'd even consider it Formula 1 now.

Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault have all had the same amount of time to prepare for this season. It's not Mercedes' fault that they are ahead of everyone else. If the other teams were so against the rules they could have said something before the season starts, so complaining about it now is just sour grapes as many others have rightly pointed out.

It would be no surprise if Ferrari are complaining because they have been on the back foot for many years now. Red Bull though said during their dominant years that it was up to the other teams to catch up and stop moaning, now they're basically doing the same. It's hypocritical.

Yes, it definitely makes a change. Previously all the technical failures and bad luck seemed to be on just one side of the garage.

Looks like it's going to be two races in one for a while yet. The tussle behind Mercedes is genuinely close and interesting, and it would be a brave person to predict how they'll sort themselves out. And at least we still have some uncertainty within Mercedes over which driver will come out on top. So it's not all bad.
