Im going 2-2, they are on their arses at the moment and hopefully we can take advantage. Now we are safe lets go for it and give them hell come oooooooooooonnnnnnnn you mighty potters!!!!!!!
Hard to work out. I see a thrashing either way. A boring 0-0 draw/grind out a 1-0 win from an early goal either way or a 2-1 win Dunno how to call this
We will probably lose tomorrow as Chelsea will be hurting after their last 2 results so I expect them to hit back. That said I would love it if we pulled off a win. Their defence has been crap so if we put them under pressure then who knows. Best we could hope for is a draw I think, though someone will beat them at the 'Bridge', why not us?
Well you are really positive. I will be there tomorrow and if we get a point I will be on CLOUD NINE!
They need to win more than we do, cue Oscar's magic trailing leg trick and us down to 10 men, love us to win but can't see us getting a point.
Had they won in the week I would have fancied us (eyes on a bigger prize and all that) but I think the special one will be desperate for a win by any means. I don't think we're a push over any more though so there is still a chance but this could be the end of our unbeaten run.
Well 3-0 then, it seems we weren't really at the races today but hey, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge are unbeaten in 77 games and on song they are a class act. We can forget that and begin an other undefeated run until the end of the season starting next week against the Toon. How about a 4-0 home win next week to make it a hat-trick of 4-0 defeats for Newcastle
We were absolutely dreadful today. I couldn`t understand why he started with Palacios ,who is too slow to catch a cold, but his replacement,Adam was even worse!! Wilko was as usual too impulsive,Crouchy did nothing,I could go on but hey-ho, as PP says, after all we were playing Chelsea @ Stamford Bridge and I didn`t really expect anything. Roll on next weekend, let`s get some revenge on Newcastle after the debacle we had up there!
Well he started with Palacios as Chelsea had won their last two league game 6-0 and 4-0 against Arsenal and Spurs. I thought that was a reasonable stance!
I was quite cream crackered when I saw these comments last night but really Hughes was not going to go to Stamford Brideg with a gung ho attitude. He had N'Zonzi playing further forward with to be honest little effect. I am sure you saw the ball played through to Arnie in the second half. There were at least two or three similar opportunities in the first half for him to be played in by N'zonzi. However he took the simple option and played it square or backwards. Up until the first goal we created the chances for Chelsea by poor pass selection and giving the ball away in dangerous places. I can recall Odenwigie on at least a couple occasions being caught in possesion no more than 30 yards from goal, a poor stooping headed clearance by Wilson, when a chest and a big boot would have been better selection! The speed with which Chelsea played also caused us problems and I would suggest we have not played against a team showing the same level of intensity as Chelsea for a good number of months. I include Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal in this. Perhaps Everton at Goodison Park would be the last time Stoke placed such a team. Chelsea's confidence grew after half time as they looked for a second goal. Once that went in, I feared the worst. However without threatening a goal, Stoke looked comfortable on the ball. I was not disheartened. This was always a game when we were likely to be outclassed by their numerous international players and although we lost by three clear goals we made Chelsea work and it could have been worse. I look forward with confidence to next week!
Thank you for that Cris. I appears to me that we have been playing more collectively and effectively as a team, without Adam and dare I say it Huth!!! Tin hat time. We appear to be playing with more conviction and pace from the back...I say appear, as the only opportunity I have to watch the team is on the television.
I don't think we can complain about the result you are always going to be up against it playing the big clubs at their home ground and losing Cameron didn't help, we still have a chance of beating our best points tally and have lots to play for.
Games like this serve as a reminder as to what we are realistically capable of. I don't think we should be to downhearted but we have to realise that there are many areas we need to work on to get us future proofed for the next 3-5 seasons. Let's stay positive!
