OK after todays disappointment, on checking next few fixtures and looks quite hopeful.

While we have Uddersfield and Donny, Reading have Bnmth (on amazing unbeaten run and same pts as us now now...talk about under the radar), Leicester and Wigan ffs...who has best chances of max pts?

If we do battle, and I mean scrap for another away win on Tuesday, like our life depends on it, then Home banker against Donny could see us in with a real chance. But, I say again, watch out for those Cherries! I loved the place and had all my savings tied up in a property down there.

Come on gaffer. The game was up long ago. We sneak back to within a couple of points but then it averages out again. We could win the next three on the bounce and it still wouldn't be enough. Depending on what reading do we need to better it by two wins - probably need to win 5 or six of our last six games,

Yeah Hampy, like we all thought before yesterday's result! I known it remains a slim chance, but isn't it more enjoyable believing we can still do it! If We do win next 2, and Reading get beat by Bnmth, Leicester then its game on once again.

But, like others, I would still be very happy with a top 10 finish - we all know we are not the finished article, and not good enough for promotion. Building on solid foundations for next year or two must be the mantra.

Hampy, was the fat lady singing outside yours last night? yes admittedly 6th is now gonna very hard to get,but there's points to win. We can go to Huddersfield and win. We should beat Donny, Burnley will hopefully be promoted and in party mode,Sheffield Wednesday will have nothing to play for. Reading aren't in top shape and their run in isn't good so I'm keeping the faith until we can't do it.
All said and done its been a good season on the whole. Some of the dropped points now coming back to haunt us but top 8 or 10 and something to build further for next season and I'll be happy.

Is that because of the fat lady singing outside his door, or just a general observation?

While I find Hampy's negativity absolutely laughable at best, the season for me is effectively over. Unless Reading wobble like crazy and pick up say four points.

We simply will not get 15 points. When was the last time we won five league games in a row? This is not a trick question, and I certainly do not know the answer.

We haven't once under McCarthy. Nor did we under Jewell, Keane, Magilton to my knowledge. I don't think we even did under Royle. Is the answer Burley? I would love someone to be a complete nerd and find the answer out!

Realistically, the maximum I can see we'll get is 11 ( 3 wins 2 draws ), and I cannot see that happening !

The thing with this league is that it never seems to go how you would expect it to, so as long as we keep going to the last second of the last game we could find ourselves in the play offs, I don't think we need to win all our remaining games to make it but we do now need to make our move.

It's nice to be at this stage of the season and still be in with a chance, although the style might be lacking at times we have made up ground this season and have a solid base to build on next season if we fall short of promotion this year.

    Come on you Blues

Interesting to hear it called negativity, and yes I did get carried away when the very unlikely seemed to be unfolding after the Derby game. However it's purely the science of probability. Hoppers called me out back in the autumn and we looked at results over something like half a dozen games, and my prediction was accurate. We drift in toward the play off places and back out again with the law of averages. No team as far as I went back had made up a deficit like ours without changing the manager.

How do you think bookies make money? They make money because they know the likelihood of any event happening and then people who don't understand probability place bets and lose far more than they win.

Yes mate, we played like the home team and I can't remember a better away performance although Huddersfield gave us so much space to play. So many chances, silky penetrating football and no risk taking second half. Cresswell had an off day that put us in danger a few times but everyone else was superlative.
