Five points is easily gained on then the above teams both in the championship and the premier league...
A top ten finish would be a good season for us, ok theres lots of if onlys but basically we are not good enough to go up as has been proven by McGoldrick being injured long term. No McG and we dont have another striker capable of scoring regularly so good approach work is wasted because theres no one to put it in the net, is Murphys return of 11 goals this season so far really good enough for an international striker? and after him then we really are scratching around for goals. I want us to finish as high as we possibly can but with the team we have available i cant see a top six finish, but its a hell of an improvement and thanks goes to MM and TC for bringing that about.
Top 10 achievement is a great acheivement for the club this season and there aren't many managers who could've acheived that but I always feel Mick could do better with the talent he has. It's frustrating when you look at what he can do for average players and the amount of improvement in them and the amount of coaching and work he does with them but he seems to lack that same patience and ability to work with more talented ones. For me he holds himself back too much and doesn't go out of his comfort zone enough, we all know to acheive things in this life you need to push yourself and go out of your comfort zone. But suggestions that he should go and be replaced are absolutely ridiculous as I said and I reiterate there are very few managers who would've got us to where we are and a midtable finish with the amount of money we've spent and what we have done in previous seasons should be seen as a good acheivement but we have been on the verge of the playoffs, so really it exceeds expectations. I disagree with you on the striker front though fieldmarshall, McGoldrick rarely scored from good approach play, he often just made them himself out of nothing. For me Murphys 11 goals and McGoldricks 16 are a reasonable return the problems we've had are our midfield are neither creating enough nor scoring enough. Murphy is not a goalscorer but has improved alot in terms of being a target man this term, he's much more strong and aggressive than he used to be, If more crosses were put in the box his heading has improved alot I'm sure he'd score more. As I said the problem is the midfield.
We are whole different league here on Not606, and I ignore what goes on there in my rare looks. Our 20-30 members are top-quality, informed, knowledgeable, literate(!) passionate and know what we are about! We also ooze humour, camaraderie and don't take ourselves too seriously! Talk of replacing the manager is totally clueless.
problem is I'm not sure they'll need to. They're a pretty awful team under Hughton but just when the chips seem to be down they seem to pick up a win to get them to safety, they did it last season and they appear to be doing it this season.
They should have a field day. Even Torres should score when they play Chelsea. I can't see them getting another point. My heart bleeds.
Have you seen their remaining fixtures ptc. I think we may all be cheering on Fulham and Cardiff and Sunderland for a month.
Oh I certainly will. I just think the Scum might actually not have to win anymore games but still stay up, they always seem to grab a win when they most need it though
FFS lads, all is not lost!!! In my league predictor thingamijig i done on twtd, i had us finish in 6th spot and i had us down to lose yesterday, all my predictions for top 9 were correct except Forest who i had to win, lol. Keep the faith and thats from Mr doom and gloom!!
I'm liking what you say mate..... (It certainly makes a change)! I used the same predictor and had us to finish on 70 points! Oh and have some REP!
