A lot of us can, and have seen it as a possibility for quite a while. Certain people seem to only look through green and yellow tinted specs though.

You also stated that our fans were ****e.

Maybe because we differ in views, we should call you ****e. Maybe you wouldn't like that, but there again, maybe it would make you think before posting such a sanctimonious post.

Yours still well and truly pissed off.........

I'm undecided
It looks grim, especially with fulham coming up
I think there is still one big performance left in us that could save us
This needs to be next weekend!

But you've been so sure Hughton would keep us up all season?

There's a small chance of staying up. We need all three below us to really mess up. After today, I can't see a goal let alone a win.

And loads of people have been sure he will take us down, and look, we're Still not in the bottom three!

The three teams that are relegated will be relegated because they deserve it, it may be us, but if three teams finish below us we will DESERVE it!

No Chance!! We never beat Fulham away, and Suarez will probably score his customary hat-trick against us when he comes to Carrow Road. Should have sacked Hughton alot earlier on in the season and we would have stood a chance. Next 5 games: L L L L L

you sound like the man falling from a great height, grinning like an idiot and saying ' so far so good, so far so good' to himself over and over again as the ground rushes up beneath him.

Why post things that you freely admit are intended to piss people off? You've been pretty quick all season to jump down any of the anti hughton crowd's throats, questioning the value of their comments, so why now stir the pot unnecessarily when their comments seem much less out of whack with how our season has gone than the happy clappy tribes?

If the board had listened to the fans who saw this coming months ago instead of those that had buried there heads in the sand, crossed every finger and toe we wouldn't be having this argument right now.
DM is as much to blame as the manager.

one thing that has been mentioned many times is that CH does not have the ability to be a PL manager and that he is still learning his craft. But, also that he has done very well as a championship manager, if we go down just maybe the board will decide he's the man to bring us back to the PL. I'm sure this will instil horror in many folk.

Imagine if the board always did as the fans wished! That would end in some interesting outcomes!

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton says: "We didn't show enough quality, conceded a poor goal and they sat deep. We needed to use the ball better and we were too loose with our passing. It was not a lack of desire or endeavour but there was a lack of quality.

glad to see that hughton got a good read on the game then...

"It was a soft goal to concede and it gave them a lift and put a little bit more pressure on us. We didn't have enough good moments and we have not really made Ben Foster work hard enough.

"We have taken a step backwards and we have to turn it around against Fulham next week. Losing today makes it an even bigger game. It was an opportunity to get a gap between us and the bottom three and we are now fighting for our lives. I can understand the fans' anxiety and frustration; they don't want to see their team in this position."

The guy\s been on the crack pipe and notice the poor use of pronouns - no "our" team Chris?

Oh the joy of that one - our players looked equally robust for the fight in that game too.

I think that's a bit strong regarding McNally. He has to judge in the round & whilst our performances have left more than a bit to be desired, the fact remains that we have been better off for nearly the whole season than at least three other clubs. Whilst I would have pulled the trigger if I were in McNally's shoes, he's been proven right far more times than I have!
If we'd won today (rather than turning in an inept, weak performance) we would have been very nearly safe & Mcnasty would have been proven absolutely right.
DM has balanced the books whilst also backing the manager in a way that no City manager has ever been backed. Should we go down, I still don't think it'll be fair to lay too much at McNally's door. He's not above criticism by any means, but he doesn't carry the can in the same way for me.

On my way out of the ground I heard a West Brom fan (how good were they today by the way? Great support) say to a Norwich fan, “you’re fans were ****ing embarrassing today mate”. The Norwich fan rapidly replied, “yeah, but so was our ****ing team”.

Hard to disagree with either statement really. The whole episode was total ****e from start to finish! It was like being at a pantomime but a pantomime where there are no jokes.

Question: if someone offered you before the season began the chance to be five points clear of the bottom three with five games remaining, would anyone have taken it? I’d have happily taken that. Others might not.

But there’s a problem, a big problem, and that is the manner in which we are entering the final run in. We look demoralised as a unit - players and coaching staff appear to have no confidence and if they do, it's incredibly brittle. we have a nasty fixture list and a very dangerous level of infighting amongst the fans who are now beginning to really scare me. The end of this season is going to be difficult, nerve-wracking and probably end in tears... one way or the other! But isn’t that what we all love football for? The emotion? I'm not happy that we are in a relegation dog fight but equally I’m totally fed up with the doom and gloom that surrounds the club every time something doesn’t go to plan. Even if we win there’s always an excuse for it and when we lose it is of course the end of the world. But it’s sport - its not life or death (no matter what McNally says...).

I think you have to agree that when a fan gets themselves so wound up, so aggressive, so abusive over a football match that even the calm, mild-mannered John Ruddy is enraged enough to go head-to-head with them in the stand, there is definitely something amiss. Both those fans exiting the ground today were right. I genuinely have no idea what is going to happen between now and the end of the season but we are all going to feel so many emotions in the next few weeks. There might be highs followed by lows. There might be lows followed by highs. It might all be lows. But rather than fear it, embrace it. It’s what being a football fan should be all about.
