Think back on tht game. Carroll was not really bullying us even when they were at 1-0 up. We rested back the initiative, pushed them back and equalised. That was the game when Hodgson stood on the touchline rubbing his chin and finally made the decision to bring on another defender when everybody could se that the game was there for the taking with another forward! Obviously they re-gained the initiative and Carroll had a field-day!!!
Hodgson is gash, no conclusion can be drawn on today's lfC or indeed for that matter today's west ham on the basis of a previous performance under different eras Lfc will play our way, they will play theirs and frankly if we get a ref without an agenda then we'll see who does what
I know it a case of "one game at a time" but is anyone else excited about the Man City game? I just want this West Ham match over a done with, Man City is the big one and I can't bloody wait!!!
If we win, yes. If we drop points tomorrow, no. We will be relying on city to drop points elsewhere and hope we beat them too, it would take all the excitement out of the game and I think the players heads would drop for it too.
It's a hell of a job we've got if we want to win it. City and Chelsea have piss easy run ins compared to us and I don't see teams putting up a fight. It was a stroll for city today. We basically have to win every game. Simple
nothings easy. they've got us at home. both will be looking at each other as well as us and saying if they f up v us the other will win it. never mind what mourinho bolloxes about. I think winning 6 games is a great position and frankly a dream. you cannot ask for more! you are right it is simple therefore its more predictable. some guys in cheslea might just be looking to psg already unless mourinhos got them all brainwashed. a bad pro or two might not play away game as well as they'd play at hime frnakly for instance. City are odd... away from home anything could happen.
Whether we drop points tomorrow or not, the game against Man City remains massive. Whatever happens, we have to win that game. I'm convinced that Man City, Chelsea and ourselves will drop points along the way anyway and I'm not talking about the games between us either.
Of we drop points tomorrow then winning the Man City game becomes even more important since losing it would mean the season is over. Therefore, for us it is just as big a game as if we beat West Ham. The only way you are right is if we give up as soon as we drop a point!
That was my argument Saint, I don't think it would be over if we dropped points against West Ham. Jaffa was saying the Man City game was pointless if we drop points to West Ham which IMO is garbage. The only game we can't afford to drop points in is the Man City game. Of course, dropping points in more than one game is a no no too.
And if we win, I will be, but what would actually be great is if we draw and city draw their 2 games in hand putting the three of you on equal points.
The only thing that matters is today's game. Turn up and play and we win - this season proves that. After that we can start to think about City and bing on top on the league again.
