This Luke Young situation is so strange, I mean when he played for us under Warnock he was genuinely good and got forward much better than even Simpson does. Very odd.

No, I remember him being average going forward and getting mugged weekly going back.

But there must be some value in him, I just can't figure out what happened, worried he may have been part of 'excluded' group under sparkless Hughes and holds his grudge against the club.

Can anyone remember the last time he played? was he any good? we need to know.........

This says and I read before he has had a long term hip problem.

I remember him doing well getting forward under Colin in the PL, scoring a good goal at Stoke, but in the month or two before he disappeared under Hughes letting opponents get inside of him in, or close to, the box, and us losing 2 or 3 goals as a result. I wondered if he had been playing with the hip problem and this was the cause or partly the cause, because he had seemed to be fairly solid before under Colin.

Bloody Luke Young. He was virtually on strike at Villa agitating for a move to London. Got his wish, he's still in London on an extremely healthy wedge, obviously actually playing doesn't bother him that much.

If he gets on I expect him to have a stormer against the Cherries (hip permitting).

Contracts up at the end of the season. Maybe he realizes he needs to put in a performance, or he will be out of a job elsewhere.

Roller, I hate to do this to such a fantastic writer, but have these words now come back to haunt you...? ;)

' Having the fitness to continue his run and the alertness to react to the rebound first enabled him to comfortably beat the Norwich defender'

    (Sorry mate, couldn't resist!!)

Not at all mate. If you follow down that link Northolt posted up EuroSports Premier League team of the week which featured Luke Young at right back.

RB: Luke Young (Queens Park Rangers)
Got in plenty of decent crosses on the overlap against Norwich and one lung-busting run saw him arrive in the box at the perfect time to clinically tuck home the rebound after Jamie Mackie's shot hit the post.

The first seven words of the last post on that link is poignant.

"You won't be able to hear me". Well we can hear him. Every time we log on and see the memorial Predication league at the top of the page we can hear him speak.

Thanks to the efforts of you and others, we'll always hear him.

Sitting with Bournemouth season ticket holder so be an interesting couple of hours?!! Liked Luke Young, some great last ditch tackles similar to Clint and lot more commitment than most who have worn the shirt in last 3 years!!
