Ramsey won't be starting, but will probably be on the bench. Gibbs is also out, but Monreal is just back so he'll probably start. Up front is where Wenger has choices to make. Giroud has looked useless recently, Podolski can't seem to play up front in our system, and Sanogo still has no goals to his name and looks very raw when he plays. My team: -------------------------Szczesny------------------------- Sagna-----Mertesacker------Vermaelen------Monreal -------------Flamini---------------Arteta----------------- Chamberlain-----------Cazorla-----------------Podolski -------------------------Giroud---------------------------- Also remember that Giroud scored 2 against Everton in the FA cup. Give him a shot, but if he's not having a good day in the first half, then sub him off, although Wenger always waits till at least 60' to change things.
Our recent record against Everton is good but I feel that this game will be different as the pressure is on both teams having to get a result and Everton currently on better form. Ramsey should not be risked so should really only come on in the second half for 20-25 minutes. We have enough in midfield but my main worry is Pod and Giroud have looked poor in the last couple games. I'm hoping for a raised performance from both, otherwise we will struggle to get any goals. For me the key is to how we cope with the likes of Lukaku. If we can contain him then it will make our task easier, if not, then the defence will have a nightmare. It will be interesting how Vermaelen and Monreal cope with this beastly presence.
We've simply got to win, a draw is not enough, so I'm sure we'll give it a good go. First goal is crucial imo, as both sides will be nervy and the atmosphere will be crackling.
This is surely your most important game this season now. Defeat would give everton the momentum to take 4th from you.
It really wouldn't. Everyone is hyping this game up far too much. Everton have a far harder run in and regardless of there result against us I fully expect them to finish below arsenal. That said if Everton fail to beat us that's there run for 4th well and truly over. Far bigger game for them than it is for us so I'm hoping we play without nerves.
If we win it'll be in our hands, so of course it gives us the momentum ffs. I hope Wenger and his side approach the game with the same attitude you're displaying here though....
I don't think it will have a critical outcome, but it will be a blow to Arsenal should we lose. To be honest our fixtures are easier than yours and if the season has anything to go by, we've been one of the most, if not, most consistent team against those outside the top 7. Your fixtures are more difficult than ours. Yes you have two home games against the Manchester clubs, but these are difficult ones, and you also have a tough away fixture against Southampton.
This whole "it will be in our hands" nonsense has been so hyped up recently, just because 'its in your hands' doesn't equal and automatic formality of success, just ask Spurs about that last season, and not just Spurs, so many other teams have been in positions of "its in our hands" to eventually not go anywhere. Yeah if you win it's in 'your hands' and you still have to face City, United, while we have a much easier fixture list.
If you did lose on Sunday, that'd make it only 2 wins in your last 9 league games, so I've no idea why you're all so confident of winning all of your remaining fixtures, as that's hardly sparkling form is it? By contrast, should we win that'd be 7 wins out of our last 9, so we'd defo be the side with the form and the momentum coming down the home straight.
Yeah and out of those 9 games were some of the best teams, the rest of the teams we're up against are the types we've been handling all season. We've been in worst positions before in terms of getting the top 4, and still did it. Anyways, we ain't going to lose on Sunday, , our City result has installed some confidence and fight back in the team.
