I know you are winding them up but I would agree. Only in England would Suarez be considered better than Rooney. In europe suarez is relatively unknown and what is known is not very good. Rooney however is seen as the english footballer to take notice of. The one english player feared by teams. The driving force behind the english team most well known to the continent and wide world. Those players from Spain who have watched the PL have done so because of players like Rooney. So while the truth may swing towards Suarez based on this season, opinions would swing towards Rooney from those outsuide of England.
Ah, but he said it in a friendly way, so that's alright then... Tbh I don't think Rooney is world class at the moment, but then neither is anyone in the PL if you're talking about the best squad of players in the world. Suarez, Hazard and Yaya are the closest, with Aguero and Rooney just behind, but none are anywhere near the top players from Spain, France or Germany. Just shows how far the PL has fallen over the last few years.
