    Clutching at straws he finishes with - if he thinks that Gardner and Wickham can save our season then he needs sectioned under the mental health act.

    What a load of bollocks! Villa is the ONLY game that Catts has given a goal away (in the league) or gifted opposition chances. How many times has he been deservedly sent off this season?

    People who say this ****e are one of the reasons referees are so quick to caution him - if our fans are spouting this nonsense then what are refs going to think?

    The person who gives the most stupid free kicks in our squad is o'shea the bloke is a ****ing plonker!!

    Can't remember the last time catts has caused us any problems at all, apart from his one nightmare game but that can happen to anyone!!

    Has he even been sent off this season??

    Yeah he got sent off at Hull for "Being Lee Cattermole" (I'm sure that's what Marriner put in the report) - The actual reason was a simple little trip where there was minimal contact and the opposition player got him sent off. I saw 4 or 5 worse fouls from Hull players which never even got a card!

    Agree with Johnson. He seems to be the only one with the ability to change our situation (and actually put the ball in the net).

    I can`t think of any more genuine contenders so I`ll go for Watmore for no other reason than to get in before Monty. :emoticon-0105-wink:

    I think Gardner can score goals - maybe he should play up front as he can certainly shoot and that's something our strikers have been largely unable to do this season!!

    Why don't we play just play Borini up top for the rest of the season, also START Johnson for the rest of the season. Whickham IS useless as he cannot even do the simple things, I'd even have Altidore before him and he has had a torred season but at least he tries to win headers etc etc.

    The only reason I can think of is we're thin on the left and Gus clearly has no faith in Giacc. :(

    To be fair to Gardner he came off the.bench and played the key pass to Johnson for the goal. Plus he is the best striker of a ball at the club and he's capable of scoring from range which is crucial when we ha e less penetration than a Catholic priest on an all adult cruise.

    Ki is a gifted centre midfielder but he turns into a f**king vegetable if he gets within 25 yards of goal with the ball at his feet.

    Front 6 could maybe line up;

    ------------------Ki--------Cattermole----------------
    Johnson------------Gardner--------------------Borini
    ----------------------Wickham--------------------------

    Two or three promising attacks broke down through Catts against the Hammers just before he was taken off, as an attacking player he is poor, as a defender he is ok but a bit reckless especially as he tires usually around the 50 minute mark. I dont know if anyone else noticed how leggy the whole team looked in the second half of this game apart from the subs, and wonder if our cup run is beggining to tell on the players Just my observations on the game, but in answer to the banner I think we need we need more than three players to save this season.

    I suggested Gards some time back playing behind Borini or even AJ they combined against the Hammers to score a fantastic goal which deserved more reward than just the consolation it turned out to be. I also agree about Ki he is our best holding player closely followed by Bridcutt.
