I seem to remember somewhere that plans were afoot to allow those that wish to smoke to go outside and do so at half time (like at most other clubs). Did this actually come into action?
I go every week? Bit of a daft thing to say wasn't it? It's just the plans were announced before, wondered whether they were looking like being enforced? I didn't actually check last week as I stayed in my seat throughout half time, but it wasn't open during the Southampton or Newcastle games.

How can you manage that? The concourse gates are always locked at half time in the South Stand? Do they open up every where else?
Strange one that, you've been able to go out at half time for ages but you didn't know that and you go to every game?
Go to the southwest corner, that's where I always go out, it's open every time. Edit Southeast corner sorry.
That's mental! I don't think I've ever seen one person going in or out at half time! Honest to God it wasn't open the last 2 home games, I even asked a steward and they said you'll have to wait until full time. Is it just gates 14-16 that stay shut then?
Not really strange is it, I don't usually bother to check as I'm used to not being able to go out. It's only recently that I remembered they were going to start opening the gates, I just never thought to look.
Funnily enough, at the Newcastle match at half time, there was a young man who supposed to be mopping the floor on the concourse, but instead was so enthralled by Jeff Stelling and Sky Sports News, he ended up mopping the same spot of floor for 15 minutes in a vain attempt to make it look like he was doing something worthwhile.
North East corner...About 2-300 outside having a smoke in small fenced area...never seen so much smoke in a small area..
