<laugh> Haha true. Mind you, he's missed some god awful sitters.

Mate no one knows what's happened to LOLdado this season. His pedigree in Spain got many of us excited that he may be the 20 goal a season striker we were looking for. Unfortunately, his form for the most part has been that of a pissed up pub player.

We've found it really hard replacing Berbatov. Keane (2nd stint), Defoe, Crouch, Bent, Pav, Ade (who's been the best when on form) and Soldado have all either failed to match expectations or been too inconsistent.

We must be due a top class striker soon, surely?!

Most strikers these days should have a good first touch in fairness. Bent could have been great here, but a mixture of throwing strops, being inconsistent and the fact others at the time were better (or in better form) meant that he weren't able to show his true potential.

You massively overpaid, especially given the financial strife at Valencia, really unusual for Levy, I was a bit stunned at the fee.

You could have had Seydou Doumbia for about £11million, we could have but we pulled the plug.

He's a 2 in 3 striker, with pace, with touch, that loves to drift like Defoe, but is more consistent, goals not in gluts.

Maybe worth a look, not like I'm your DOF like ;)

Well, Bent had it made up here, ****ing stropped cos Gyan, who was a better all round footballer if not as good a pure finisher, got some love, and he ****ed his career.

I have no pity for the lad whatsoever, he can get to ****.

Yeah Doumbia looks decent.

Jackson Martinez is/ was the guy I really wanted at the Lane. Big, strong, great finisher, decent technique and has made Falcao's loss at Porto pretty much non-existent.

If Lukaku is around in the SUmmer and Chelsea are willing to do business, I'd have him in a heartbeat.

Said all along Bent should never have left you guys. He had a good thing going with you lot. Had he stayed, would likely have made a lot more England appearances.

I do rate Martinez, there's just something that says to me he wouldn't do great in England, on the face he has the boxes ticked, but I dunno, I just have a hunch.

Lukaku, well he'd be a stunning buy for anyone, he's ****ing quality. Why he's not in the Chelsea side right now, who knows? Mourinho being stubborn? Never. Prick.

Yep, Bent would still be getting 15-20 a season here, he'd still be adored, he'd still be relevant.

Now, benched at Fulham, bottom of the league, and unwanted at Villa, he'll end up at Leicester if they come up, close to his 'home' of Birmingham, the ****ing arsewipe.

Soldado's flopped for us because of mismanagement.
He started in a side with no service and no support, which shot his confidence. Then Villas-Boas was replaced, Adebayor returned to the side and they looked a decent pairing.
Then our current stand warmer decided to start trying to be smart, mixed things up and dropped him, killing whatever little confidence he'd regained.

One of the most overlooked aspects of the modern game is poor balance and inappropriate team selection, for me.
The amount of times that players get criticised for being ****e, only to go elsewhere and flourish in a side that's more suited for their abilities is ridiculous.
Look at Sturridge now at Liverpool or Gareth Barry at Everton. Half of the Man Utd team show the opposite effect.

Fair.

I'd wager a few of the signings that haven't been great this year will be decent next season.

I wish we'd gone for Sigurdsson, he'd have been an ideal fit for us, always rated Dembele as well, if he could do it consistently.

See I'm the complete opposite of opinion on that, I think Martinez is built for the Premier League. He has all the right attributes and more in my eyes to be a real success for the right club. Though... I thought Soldado would've impressed so what do I know? Lol.

God knows what Jose isn't seeing in Lukaku, the fact his strike force haven't managed 20 league goals between them surely screams for the return of Lukaku next season. I can only presume that the rumours of a move for Costa or Falcao have some real substance.

Bent just made a stupid move, I genuinely think he chose to go to Villa purely because of the size of his transfer fee, he wanted to be a player who'd racked up shed loads in fees so it looks like he was a world beater. At the time wasn't Sunderland higher up in the table than Villa? If so then I don't see the logical motives for joining them bar money and his massive fee.

Yeah would be awesome if we could nab him. Joining up with Vertonghen (if he doesn't go), Dembele and Chadli would surely be a good incentive, I think him and Chadli are actually good friends too outside of the football concept.

Sunderland fined by Premier League over ineligible Ji Dong-won
• Striker played in four games without international clearance
• Matter is closed and no chance of points deduction

http://www.theguardian.com/football...d-fined-premier-league-ineligible-ji-dong-won

Lucky for Sunderland Ji Dong-won was hopeless so no one cared, much!.........but he has somehow earned a move to Dortmund for next season to help replace Lewandowski <yikes>

Striker's fortunes are amazing. One bit they're a no-hoper then a move to another side can see them become the bees' knees.

Take Kanoute, not that he was a no-hoper but we sold him as we felt he wasn't needed, goes to Sevilla and becomes arguably the best striker in the League for a period of time. Won back-to-back UEFA Cups and I think a Copa del Rey.

Forlan at Utd, could hit a barn door, goes to Spain and tears things up over there.

Soldado with so far has gone the opposite. A potent, lethal finisher in Spain, expected to be the man to lead the line for Spain in the world cup in Brazil, is now struggling for opportunities in our side.

Carroll at Newcastle, looked like the guy to partner Rooney for England and now finds himself getting about 6 goals a season with West Ham.

On paper this is surely the most winnable game we have left, and on paper we have a fairly easy run-in.

So i'm going for a Sunderland win, lol
