Drogs, Hope this answer is read by EC as you are both of the same mind. I watch games to see how the team is set up and more, how they react during games. The only player I have a problem with at Chelsea is the one I am now asking to be played, Ashley Cole. I have no problem with JT or especially Lamps who I lived 4 houses from for 6 years and know a little bit. That doesn't mean my thoughts on them are personal, far from it. So to clear things up, Lamps should be let go now and JT at the end of next season. JT is miles past his best, but still good enough to lead our defence IF he's played with better rest periods. He hasn't been great all season, he had a very slow and inconsistent start and was injured, and has been excellent since around mid november. He is now knackered which means he can sustain his top form for 5 months without rest. He is too slow now for top class attackers, and Cahills' weakness is also his speed. Put them together and you see what can happen in the CL. PL less of a problem. Ivan and Azpi are above criticism, but Azpi is a right back and he and Ivan should share the workload and play fresher. During the season Cech has been full of mistakes, Courtois improving every game. Legend or not, Cech is now only our 2nd best keeper. Ramires has been wretched.General play poor, passing terrible, defending abysmal. He is lost in the system that is evolving and it doesn't look he will find the way out. Oscar goes missing, leaving Hazard to do all the work, but he can't do that. Willian is a terrible passer as well and loses the ball. Luiz I like in midfield., I know you don't. Strikers? we simply don't have any. When the midfield and strikers are sorted, maybe we will then see who can work and who can't.
I am with CP here. I always respect Cech. But cannot defend his performances, when most of them have directly impacted our results. Rambo is a ticking red card machine. I would give Van Ginkel a chance, as someone mentioned previously. Ivan needs fecking rest. Easily our most minutes player! JT is still arguably our best CB. Lamps is as good as Mikel - very slow, can't make a telling tackle.
I think Luiz is worth a go in midfield too. But just because he had one good game v City does not make him the next Ya Ya for me. The clamour from some to see Luiz moved from CB to CM means they cannot admit when he has a stinker (Palace). When he has had 20 games like against City (don't forget Fernandinho was out and he was up against Dermechillis), and not two stinkers v Palace and PSG, I will be convinced. I never like to judge players on one good game. Re JT: I disagree. He found his best form from late December onwards. We must watch different seasons, CP. Terry had two of his worst performances against Stoke and Sunderland in December. Also, when was JT 'injured'? He's played 30 out of 32 Premiership games and 8 out of 9 CL games. How can he be 'miles past his best' when he universally seen as having his best season since 2009/10. Even the Chelsea/Terry-hating pundits are saying he has been the best defender in England this year, many calling for his England recall. Re him losing pace, he has always been slow, and ideally needs to be paired with a quick CB such as Carvalho, Zuma for 'European games' or even Premiership games, where we also have quick skillful foreign strikers these days such as Aguero etc!!!!!! You said earlier this season you can't play Terry-Cahill together in the Premiership because of the pace of our league, now you are applying this to European games.
Agreed Luiz did not play well, but neither did Matic and nobody has slated him. Ideally the problem was Lampard playing in front of them and Torres up top. Luiz gets a lot of stick, but he is better in the midfield than Mikel or Lampard and it's a shame MVG has been injured, he probably would have had a great season.
Agree Matic poor but he got slated in one paper... 4 out of 10. Happy to give Luiz a chance to prove himself in midfield. He could be brilliant there if concentrates and cuts out reckless decision making
Apart from teh first goal , so all of the game. It was a soft free kick given away by luiz, and was superb cross in, luiz had to go for it as it was curling in. Cech before the head injury would have come for it, but after that piece of filth got away with kneeing him in the head, he's never really been the same The third goal was a case of no one wanting to tackle him as the fecker would have gone down faster than a WAG at china whites. Good hard shot and chec just failed to get to it, sh*t happens. I won't join in with the Doom merchants that always turn up slagging the team off, because quite frankly thats not support or normal critque, its low level trolling. Although for the Mikel baiting , I will bite just once Chelsea Premier League (1): 2009â10 FA Cup (4): 2006â07, 2008â09, 2009â10, 2011â12 League Cup (1): 2006â07 FA Community Shield (1): 2009 UEFA Champions League (1): 2011â12 UEFA Europa League (1): 2012â13 how about everyone slagging him off, open a can of STFU, Every manager that has been at Chelsea has played him, so either they all know feck all about the games and your a genius or its the other way round. Guess what option I'm picking? Oh yeah and he's only 26 and you can add and African Nations cup to that tally as well! Internet no marks, jesus wept!
we'e doomed.................it's all gone dark........Mother? Mother? I'm so cold. Why is it so cold?............I can't can't breathe..... cough cough, must try to have hope, must not give innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Guess we'll never know whether Luiz would be a good answer in mid field, as it's unlikely he'll get the game time to find out, and I think is gone next season anyway. JT is not the player he was last time Jose was around, even though he's had a good run. That's what I mean by past his best. If you think JT and Cahill are our best shot at the PL next season, then so be it. I'm of the opinion we need reinforcements as I don't think JT will maintain this seasons form. My guess is there will be some big changes at seasons end.
Well JT, Cahill and our defence are the reason we are in the title race this season. We have the best defence in em league while our strikers misfire. You may recall we have signed a quick CB Zouma for next season who would dovetail nicely with Cahill and learn from 'miles past it' Terry next season (tbf, CP, you have dropped the 'miles' part at the third attempt) If Luiz is that good as a midfielder, and Rambo is that bad according to you, in midfield, then LUiz needs to step up and lead us to the title, during Ram's suspension. Luiz was dreadful v Palace and poor v PSG, making two goals and scoring one too. I don't judge players on one bad game. Luiz has time to prove himself in midfield against PSG and in our title run-in, Although the title may be gone after his And Matic's performance v Palace. At the highest level, football is about not making mistakes under pressu re as creativity and genius. Let's see how Luiz and co deal with the pressure of title deciders and big CL games. So far, the players have wilted under pressure
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26865294 if you haven't looked at bbc's link above. How the feck Nando doesn't get the confidence / swagger from a guy like Jose? We are in it, bring it on Paris!
