The future of England striker Jay Bothroyd is yet to be decided despite reports he is set to sign for Queens Park Rangers, according to his agent. Bothroyd is out of contract at the end of June and would be available on a free transfer for Neil Warnock's QPR, who won the Championship last season to gain promotion to the Premier League, but the Hoops face competition from Everton, Newcastle and Sunderland. Cardiff City striker Bothroyd scored 18 league goals last term but opted not renew his contract with the Bluebirds after they failed to win promotion to the top flight. The 28-year-old made his England debut in a friendly against France last season and is eager to secure a move to the Premier League after taking a short summer break. "Jay has just come back from holiday. It's an exciting time for him because he has spent three years turning his life around," agent Sky Andrew has told talkSPORT."He's in a good position, he's a Bosman [free transfer]. There's been quite a lot of interest and now he is back I'm actually just going to sit down with him and try and decide what is the best route to go down."
everton still favs to sign him. Agreed i'd take him. He was a real handful against us this season in both games.
He is'nt the type of player a club, supposedly with the ambition of being a top 4 club, would buy. To move in the right direction, we have to bring in transfers, in a simular way to Man City. This is a tough division to stay in & if you go purchasing player's of the standard that Blackpool bought, then there is only one direction your heading in. That is back to the Championship.
Watford, we aren't there yet. This season, we need to bring in players that will help us stay in the Premiership. Once that's done, we can start thinking about the heady heights of a top 10 finish next season, and then maybe pushing on. But that's a long way off. We are not a club that any player with immediate European ambitions would come to.... not yet.
Agreed. Signing anybody would be a plus right now. Even better if it's someone I've actually heard of. I'm not holding my breath though.
I keep thinking about the other year when Derby won one game all season Maybe Hulse will help us win one game as well
Still he done better for an underperforming Watford than Bothroyd done with a team full of prem players.
Watford overperformed? other than Graham who the hell performed for Watford? You Qpr fans are just as bitter as your manager
Oh Jimmy, don't be so sensitive petal. It's just their opinion, just because its different to yours - it doesn't mean they are being spiteful and bitter to you.
Not being sensitive and never said the comments are bitter towards myself, only stating what i think is their intent bitterness towards not signing Graham and actually trying to say that Bothroyd is a better player? which is utter rubbish
