<laugh> He has been crap for you. A much better sanction would be to play him for every minute of every game left this season! Heck, you can even make him captain too!

Sunderland have been fined by the Premier League after it emerged they fielded an ineligible player in four league matches earlier in the season.
Striker Ji Dong-Won played against Fulham, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Manchester United before Sunderland told the Premier League they had made an administrative error.
It is understood they were made aware of the error in December and Sunderland settled the fine in early 2014.
The club will not be deducted points.
Club secretary Liz Coley has left the club but sources at Sunderland insist it was not as a result of the error.
Ji played in the games at Fulham (17 August), Southampton (24 August), Crystal Palace (31 August) and Manchester United (5 October)
Sunderland were fined because they failed to gain international clearance for the South Korean after he returned to the club from a loan spell at German club Augsburg last season.
The Premier League club had not realised they needed to seek international clearance for a second time, when he returned to England. He should not have been involved in any matches before the club received written confirmation from the German FA.
The Premier League have refused to comment.

Potential point dockage coming up? 3 would be fine.

But you can still stay up even if you get 3 points docked. I believe!

    * Seriously tho, what a load of nonsense. The kid is a korean international. What kind of clearance does he need? Ok, someone forgot the paperwork and has been sacked for it.

This is too big an issue to attract only a fine. The Premier League cannot surely deal with this alone without referring to UEFA or FIFA.

    Load of codswallop.

And why exactly would FIFA or UEFA get involved?
    It's in the PL's jurisdiction.

The Tevez saga, although a completely different kettle of fish entirely (it was okay for Liverpool and Man U to have the same contracts) gives the EPL a precedent for the punishment for an ilegible player, although I also remember us with Manny omomiyimi (or whatever) being cup-tied and playing less than 10 mins of a game that we won, were forced to replay and lost (v Villa)

Sky Sports News has learned that Sunderland were fined for fielding an ineligible player in the Premier League earlier this season.
The Black Cats failed to get international clearance after Ji Dong-Won returned to the club after a loan spell with Augsburg in Germany last season.
The South Korean striker reportedly played in the first three matches of the season against Fulham, Crystal Palace and Southampton, as well as the clash with Manchester United in October, without international clearance.
Sunderland alerted the Premier League to the error and were fined.
They will face no further punishment and the matter is now closed.
Ji, who completed a permanent move back to Augsburg in January, also played in the 4-2 victory over MK Dons in the first round of the Capital One Cup in August, a win which sparked Sunderland's run all the way to the final in which they lost to Manchester City last month.
They will face no further punishment and the matter is now closed.
