Nope. He's quality. He's not going to be the next Messi, but he'd be a fantastic player for us.

I haven't seen an improvement in him this season, and he's a bit of a lump. First touch could be better and he could work harder.

I haven't read the article or seen the video, but I understand Joey Barton is suggesting that Wayne Rooney is not World Class.

Which kind of makes me wonder what world class really means. It's a term that gets bandied about with everyone having a reasonable understanding of what it means. I had the idea that Wayne Rooney was supposed to be World Class. However, I think he stops short of that, simply because he doesn't perform well at every level, plus there are other players out there who are superior to him, and do. Is his partner in crime RVP world class..? Yes, I believe he is. Is thinking that WR isn't world class such a shock anyway..?

World Class is a vague term, when it comes to football, it appears, and pundits and people like to use it too much in my humble opinion. It becomes watered down.

EDIT: Having now seen the video snippet, I think I agree with Barton as to his overall perception.

Says a lot that Joses strikers are ****, yet he still has made no move to build the bridges between him and Lukaku by saying he will be a Chelsea player next season. If Chelsea manage to land a big name then I can see Lukaku being being moved on, Spurs would pay high 20s for his services. Or we could swap Luke for him

I agree. I reckon Mourinho will sell him to make funds for Cavani or Costa.

I'd let Spurs have him if they're going to pay £25m. They're experts in wasting money, and I can just see this being yet another flop. We want them to keep making flop signings so we can catch them.

    Either way I don't think he'd be a Poch player :)(). Benteke-Lukaku would be...interesting. <yikes> (but a bit of a potentially very expensive risk)

Benteke won't be involved in any transfers this summer.

No Zlatan either, and that's poor.

There have been and will be others, by accident of birth or relations. No George Best, no Gareth Bale, etc...

Much as people might castigate me, the sound of no Ryan Giggs never filled me with regret. ;)

Never mind, I distinctly remember the most pleasure Ryan Giggs has ever given me, and that's the chuckle I emitted every time the commentator in the original Pro Evo Soccer used to say Greggs, rather than Giggs because the game didn't have the licence to call him by his real name. So a sandwich shop he became. ;)

Sunderland fielded an ineligible player in 4 games including one against us. Only an administrative error, but I demand 3 points back and another 3 for hurt feelings.

Was going to say what if they stay up because of them games played. But out of the 4 games they only got 1 point.

Not much point in a points deduction. the maximum they could realistically deduct would be 1, and what would be the point of that?

They could deduct as many points as they like...not just the one point gained, but if it was going to happen it should have been at the time. Too harsh to do it now at this critical time (not that it is going to happen). I think teams that have had points deducted in the past for similar offences might reasonably ask why it didn't happen to Sunderland and West Ham.
