    Krul is 26 today.


    Goalkeeper signed from his hometown club by United in 2005 on the recommendation of their then-overseas scout Ray Clarke.

    Appearing at both reserve and academy level for the Magpies, an early hint of Tim's levels of ability and confidence came in the FA Youth Cup when he twice played a part in penalty shootout wins - and scored the winning spot kick in a victory over Stoke.
