You use the link on Sporting Life/Oddschecker, open a new account, place the £30 bet at 4/11 and they pay you out at 2/1 if he wins! Plus you get a £30 free bet. Cant knock that!
16.15 -Aintree- Off The Ground - 14/1 e/w Better than the bare result at Cheltenham when behind the likes of TDS & Uxiandre. Won well the last two times at Doncaster and this step down in grade is his level and I fully expect him to make advantage of this
well ok mate - I have done that but still no confirmation that that is what they will do - still - it's a bet to nothing really, although I wouldn't normally bet at those odds, at 2-1 I'd have gone much bigger!
Managed to have a successful 4 fold last year(Dynaste/AFC/Sprinter/MTOY) so going to follow suit tomorrow. Activial - Has 3 lengths to find on Calipto but showed plenty of improvement and jumped nicely last time out. Calipto had a hard race at Cheltenham and did well to finish 4th. Dynaste - This looks like a cracker. Last years 1st & 2nd vs last years Mildmay winner over same C+D. Dynaste to me still looks unexposed over the longer trip, he clearly wasnt right in the King George but the run in the Betfair chase on seasonal debut was top notch and i think he will take all the beating. The New One - Close 2nd in this as a novice and has clearly improved since, opposition is poor with failed chasers and handicappers. Oscar Whiskey - Closely matched with Taquin Du Seuil this year who won the JLT. Fell at the first so unlike his challengers will be more fresh. Dodging Bullets wont stay the trip although i love him as a 2miler. Likes it round here so if he jumps well he should win. About 52/1 for the 4
People are all over Activial in the first, and rightly so, saying that it bypassed Cheltenham for Aintree. Commissioned who was second behind Activial last time out, hung badly left, and although he was roundly beaten, I feel he will be less green next time and at 20-1 represents a decent ew bet. I agree with most that the racing is far from inspiring, but it's a damn sight better than the grade 4's and 5's we get to see plenty of. Tomorrow looks like multiples day
Jeez its much better than the sand s***e and bog standard flat racing. No bet for me though tomorrow as wont be able to watch any of it for one...
Honestly Reebs, Activial is one of my strongest bets of the season at 6's. I'm very keen. I'd be almost certain he's improved past Calipto and is going to be fresh. Can't wait for 2pm.
Hawk High @ 11/1 (GP) 14:00 JUVENILE HURDLE (GRADE 1) (4YO) 2m 1f Boxer Georg @ 16/1 (GP) 15:40 HUNTERS CHASE 2m 5f 110y Kings Grey @ 20/1 (GP) 16:15 HANDICAP CHASE (GRADE 3) 2m Spirit Of Shankly @ 12/1 (GP) 17:25 HANDICAP HURDLE (GRADE 3) 3m 110y EW acca and a Lucky to boot stay frosty
If Actival or Commissioned wins the 2.00 in Aintree I suggest you get on Solar Impulse in the 3.55 at Taunton, there's a form line from Kempton in February that is very strong, however I would imagine the price will shorten considerably once the 2.00 result is known
Nice one Wooly... Good to see someone else has picked the same as me... Were doooooommmeed I tell yer...
Oddy, I live about 20 miles away from the course and its just dark n gloomy at the moment... The rain is coming tonight, and it will rain hard by the sounds of it... As for the next 2 days, well its going to be patchy and we might not even get any more rain after Thursday's downpour... It might effect the going for Friday from good-soft to soft, but I would expect Saturdays course to be good, good-soft all over...
It's always nice to know that an animal likes a certain course and distance. Hawk High in the 14:00 comes into the race with both boxes ticked. He's also in form. 12-1 looks value to me.
Can't make my mind up about Hawk High Cyc. Yes, he has C&D form and won the Fred Winter at the festival, but I just wonder whether the 4YOs, more than any other runners at Aintree, tend to leave their race at Cheltenham? I remember last year being absolutely convinced that this race was between Irish Saint and Rolling Star, then up pops L'Unique who swerved Cheltenham, with Irish Saint, Rolling Star and Fred Winter winner Flaxen Flare all looking rather jaded up the home straight. I think you need a fresh horse in this and Actival and Fox Norton are my 2 against the field, with preference for Fox Norton e/w at the prices.
Funnily enough I think the handicaps are much more attractive races than the grade 1s at Aintree today. The last is an absolute corker. Looking at tomorrow's card and the Melling Chase is awful. Remember last year? Cue Card v Flemenstar v Sprinter Sacre, what a race that was - whetted the appetite for weeks before and certainly didn't disappoint. This year's renewal looks nothing more than a handicap, there isn't a Grade 1 animal in there.
I have to say, looking at todays card I thought, this is a full on day for getting to the poor house, not one of the races (outside the foxhunters) looks straightforward and a race that you probably can say all could run to form. Take SC, Dynaste and co, that race could be an awful boil over if they are over the top.
