Celtic manager Neil Lennon will sit down with the club to discuss a new 12-month contract, Sky Sports reports.

The Bhoys boss has been on a six-month rolling deal since taking the job, but will be offered the longer contract this week.

Lennon failed to land the SPL title, but did win the Scottish Cup last season.

Although the previous campaign was marred by the controversies of death threats against Lennon and an assault on him by a Hearts fan, the ex-Northern Ireland is ready to sign the new deal.

Negotiations have been in progress since the season ended, and the 39-year-old will now ink his new deal once the final details have been agreed.

The SPL runners-up will then set about rebuilding the squad to mount their challenge for next season.

It was inevitable that Scotland's best and youngest manager would still be at Celtic next season. The job is only half done and if he can improve Celtic as much this season as he did last then it will be hard to see anyone in the SPL put up anything more than token resistance.

Shouldn't you be more worried about the fat 50 year old rookie at Ibrox.
