spot on mate, yesterday we didnt play as well as we have been but I suppose we had to have a bit of a dip in performance, but to still get the 3 points with a bit of an off day is brilliant. If we had played like we did against West Ham and Villa we would have won by 3, Hull wont go down, far worse teams than them

As th97 reminds us , Asmir might leave at the end of this season. This could be a BIG problem. Yesterday was typical of a number of games that Asmir won for us.

he must be in the running, imo what he has done in March is better than what Brendan Rogers has done, or am I biased?

I think it is a toss up between them two, Rodgers will probably get it though because they may well end up top of the league today.

I think though the change from relegation fight to mid - table comfort is much more impressive! And no, you're not being biased. The facts are plain to see.

I think it could depend on what Liverpool do against Spurs today. If they win I would expect Rodgers to get it, though he could get it anyway (being Liverpool and challenging for the title). In any case winning it is often a poisoned chalice so maybe MH shouldn't get it. I want Stoke to maintain their good form for the remainder of the season. Next team in our sights is Newcastle and a 9th place finish. UTP!!

isnt it a bigger achievement for a team fighting relegation to get 3 wins and a draw rather than a team second in the table winning all 4?, personally I think what Hughes has done this month is a bigger achievement. Like you say though Rogers will probably get it

    Yes indeed KKB

Remember when.he was injure earlier this year...we leaked goals.

Waddington always said that Shilton was worth 20 points a season.

MY vote for player of the year.

Well I personally think it will be in order 1. Rodgers 2. Martinez 3. Hughes.

4 wins and a draw is magnificent. 13 points to take us to 40 is great.

Aspergers, I got a tendancy o be really blunt without considering what I'm saying, lol, it can be like being a troll without the mailcious intent.

Glad you lot are doing well, showing that smaller clubs can not only survive, but thrive without the need for '19th century' football. Might take a while for you to lose the Pulis stigma, but glad to hear you're being entertained now. I will give managers like Pulis and Allardyce their due though, they know how to survive and slowly build at this level.

I've just had a tidy up guys (hope you dont min but if anyone does I can always undo) of all the really positive threads. Hopefully it will continue on our way to challenging the benchmarks of previous seasons. If anyone has any suggestions or wishes on any of the threads, please feel free to PM any of the mods. Cheers all and keep posting.

    Evening Gents,

Firstly can i say what a well put together OP that was. Completely objective and a good read. <ok>

I've not voted as its not my board & I've still not seen anything to make me change my opinion of the man.

He inhereted a stable, difficult to beat team at an established Premiership Club. I happily admit he has changed your style of football but for a while he did go to far away from your strengths & you flirted with relegation.
It seems he has realised this and got you playing more effective football

He must be praised (i suppose) for not getting you relegated

Im still intrested to see what and how he does in the summer. You have some aging players that may need replacing soon if you wish to progress and MH a terrible track record in this, as his best mate is Kia and thats who he got all our players from.

Surely he only needs a few to freshen things up and kep you competitive?

Once again, well done for staying up and the future will be intresting <ok>

arnautovic, asaaidi, pieters, odemwingie, muniesa all of these were hughes signings and would be the players I put down first on the teamsheet and only sprnt 5 million

it takes a bigger man to admit that they are wrong

Well now, look who has popped up for breath from down under.

Question...do they have psychiatrists in Australia, this guy ?? has an unhealthy fixation about Mark Hughes..an archetypal stalker...just asking

Really good point, and I think the structure we have now keeps things in control.
