You can see there is a player in Reza, but shipping him out to the wing was never going to be the solution. From almost his first touch against Wigan you could see he can strike a ball, and we just need to provide him some better service.

Agree, he makes good runs, so on the shoulder looking to attack the goal looks a better option than playing wide, and I think he could be good six yard poacher, if we actually got the ball in there...

I'm back now from a most enjoyable jaunt to the northern counties. After the Derby defeat, which wasn't as bad as the score-line suggests, I made my way across to delightful Ripon and set myself up in a exceptional B&B situated just a stone's throw from the cathedral.

Anyway, it must be said that a miasma of doom is hanging over Elland Road. I have never known such a sombre atmosphere at this footballing hotbed, and I felt sure we would heap more misery onto the Leeds fans.

It was a poor match with very little quality, but we did enough to deserve the win. Dervite, Hamer and Cousins stood out for me, yet Reza will take the plaudits for his superb goal. He was afforded so much space by the Leeds full-back that it is was only a matter of time before he made something happen.

Overall, I don't think this match will affect the players' energy levels, as both teams seemed happy to go through the motions in a listless manner.

Aside from the goal and the penalty save, the best part of the evening was the pie I bought at half-time, which was probably the best I've ever had at a football match.

    COYR!

Ben Hamer's save from the penalty looked outstanding on Sky Sports. His efforts throughout helped garner the 3 points as a one goal lead is always precarious in these matches when under attack from Leeds at the end. It looked a very clever goal, more of a crafted one.

Goal and penalty save now on CAFC YouTube channel... along with obligatory totally balanced commentary of course! Both look better every time I see them.
