@OfficialFOXES: Congratulations to @10_kingy, whose 54th #lcfc goal last night makes him the top-scoring midfielder in Club history! http://t.co/a87F3xfS9n

    <applause>

Fantastic for an academy player to take the record

Ditto - he has his knockers but as many on here have pointed out, the boy certainly knows where the net is ...

    That's one hell of a record. <applause>

As Fosse says, he's got his faults but he's one hell of a finisher.

Imagine if he had that yard of pace, he'd make an excellent striker.

A loan next season could help him kick on and become more of a fixture the following season

Nothing to gain. Kingy will be a squad player

Lets not forget for the up until just before christmas he was keeping Matty James out the team

His finish last night was superb. One of the best finishers the wear a Leicester shirt in a very long time

IMO only Kevin Phillips and the Yak are close to him

... I'd go with that - a shared composure when the chance arises making the very most of the time available rather than rushing the effort ... sometimes that's instantaneous - other times (rather like last night's chance) they just 'appear' to have more time to make it clinical than other players ...

    Neither were in Gary's league.

I'd argue that Tony Cottee was a better finisher too.

Didn't think we were going back THAT far <laugh> ... but you are right ... and if we are going back through my lifetime of supporting there are a few more names ... Alan Clarke, Frank Worthington, Keith Weller, Jimmy Melrose and Allan Smith for instance ...

Dunno about that to be fair bud ? Lineker was a predatory striker or scored easier goals playing off a target man ?

Clarke wasn't called sniffer for nothing, take a chance out of nothing. But delighted an academy player has achieved this record, well done Andy King.

Considering we only had the Yak because we paid an absolute fortune in wages (as well as a £1m fee) and Phillips because he's about finished (in other words, both are/were Prem level strikers), that's a fairly big compliment!

If you look at most of King's goals they're difficult chances. He often scores with his only chance in the game, he just seems to have that clinical edge. Last night's finish was a perfect example. He was just so calm, slotting it into the bottom corner.

Nice to see that some teams still know the point of a decent youth set up....<ok>

Absolutely - it's that calmness and poise that our otherwise excellent strike partnership seems to lack at times.

Imagine if we could make some sort of super player.

    Schmeichel's desire.
    De Laet's acceleration.
    Moore's physique.
    Morgan's leadership.
    Konchesky's experience.
    Knockaert's tricks.
    Drinkwater's brain.
    King's finishing.
    Dyer's pace.
    Vardy's workrate.
    Nugent's awareness.
