Anyone's guess. The Secret Footballer: Players rule at Cats At the other end of the table, people have kept talking about the games in hand that Sunderland have as their ace in the hole, but they have to win those matches and my view is that they won't, especially after the 2-1 home defeat against West Ham United on Monday night. Take a look at Sunderland's remaining fixtures - Tottenham, Everton, Manchester City, Chelsea, Cardiff City, Manchester United, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City. Now, it may very well go down to those last two matches, both at home and both of which they'll need to win. But by that point, they could well be on a horrible run of results and the pressure will simply be too much. I tipped Sunderland for the drop very early on. Last season, I was receiving so many pictures from players who I know up and down the country of Sunderland players pissed up at the weekend or during the week - the "Tuesday Club". And I'm not a total saint because, on a few occasions, I was there with them. I feared for them back then but Paolo Di Canio came in and pulled off a miracle. Yet Di Canio was just an instant fix and the players did not want to get used to his methods for a whole season and they duly let the club know. When he was replaced with the easy-going Gus Poyet, I gave them little hope of surviving. Not because Gus is a bad manager but simply because the players are still running the club and that is always a huge danger. http://www.teamtalk.com/sunderland/9244704/-? ........................................................ Do they like a drink to much? There ain't a lot of evidence to back that claim up.
Bardo and Catts? Both senior squad members in the Captains pecking order with proven evidence of incident involving drink. Sure Gonads said he's seen Wickham getting pissed up regularly. There is a bit of evidence fella. How many like to binge drink and weather it's wide spead through out the squad is a different matter and something we'll probably never know.
Not long ago there was talk of Johnson liking a slurp. Sess got done for dd in his final days, there are rumours, but in todays society, a lack of video or photographic evidence, which is suprising, seeing as people always have their phones out, and picture nearly everything.
But they'll be the only ****ers out. I know you're not in England at the moment fella, don't know how long it's been since you have but barely anybody goes out on a Saturday Night, Tuesdays are deserted in pubs, there's no ****er there to take pictures. Night life is **** at the moment. There certainly isn't folk out midweek trying to snap a footy player.
The players do rule at SAFC, Ellis Short proved that when PDC was sacked!, no disrespect to Gus Poyet, but if for one reason or another he left SAFC, any other prospective manager will wonder if he upsets a player, will he be out of a job?
I have heard these sort of stories for a while now but there is no way this is happening on a regular basis as there definatly would be photo / video evidence. The tabloids would be following our squad around to get some snaps and fill some colum inches in their rags. Regardless of how deserted some pubs are they mostly live in affluant areas where people do still drink during the week and there would be pics on FB or Twitter
Maybe they go to swanky places where they make you drop your phone off when you go. I once went to a party where they made me put my keys into a bowl when I got there.
Yep, I've seen Connor, not just drinking, but drinking & driving midweek. This was shortly before he went to Sheff Wed, in fact may well have been the day before. I have seen Bardo out, but he's never been drinking when I've seen him.
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. There is a rotten core at the heart of the club and it needs eradicating. Another question re running the.club. What the **** does Margaret Byrne know about running a football club?
There should be a die-hard fan at high level, IMO, at any club. Even if they need training, or are there purely as an advisory, there should be. The clubs, despite the claims, just aren't in touch with the fans, and no fans, no ****ing club.
She`s not there to run the club mate, her qualifications are on the legal side. She`s there to solicit apparently.
She's chief executive she is running the club. Ellis is the money but the ceo runs the day to day. The club.solicitor is someone called Lois Jarvis.
Really? I stand corrected. Always thought she was on the legal side. In that case my opinion`s changed, hoy er oot.
She was promoted to ceo a few year ago from a legal position I think. Shorts biggest failing in my opinion. She's an Irish criminal law solicitor...how can she be ceo of a premier league football club???
Clear out needed there, as well as the playing side. There's no "football" input at the top any more. It all "going forward" "get go" Management speak bollocks.
