April Fool's jokes don't count after midday, I thought?! Are they serious? Has it been done before? If so, that is pretty amazing (and deserved...) though I imagine sets a dangerous precedent!! http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/01/norwi...ickets-after-yet-another-away-defeat-4685547/
Hope this is true, because it's a really nice gesture and should help with the atmosphere at the weekend too. Agree it does rather set a precedent though, how many away games are fans going to have to pay for next season! 899 fans at say £30 a ticket is just shy of £27 k, which between a matchday squad of 18 is £1500 each, or just over half a days wages if they're on £20k p/w, so it's not like anyone's going to be going hungry from it!
Is there an application line? I'd like a refund for the saints match please & would they mind paying for Fulham in advance?
Lots of negative, grudging reaction to this on Pink Un. Personally I think it's a nice gesture and we shouldn't knock it. They don't have to do this.
I suggest that you never watch Norwich again, it would much better for your mental health and maybe you'd be a happier bunny
What a load of PR Bollox! Bribing the fans after playing so poorly is really scraping the barrel They should be doing extra training and doing everything they can to put it right ready for the next game instead! Most fans will forgive their team for losing but bribing the fans for their forgiveness is just the thin end of the wedge! If the players give 100% in every game then they wouldn't feel the need to indulge in all this nonsense! This kind of thing just chimes so well with the compensation culture we have developed as a society!
Probably more interested in learning how to deal with the PR fallout after the next abject performance! Listen this is not a direct criticism of Norwich but more for the growing trend for clubs, managers and players to try and bribe their way back in favour with the fans after a dodgy performance! Sport is unpredictable and most fans will accept a loss but what they wont accept is players who aren't giving their all for the team that they support! Believe me I know from bitter experience!
Breaking communication from a players' representative at Carrow Road: "The players wanted to reimburse the travelling fans for their tickets after such a poor showing against Swansea, but we're concerned the fans would take it as a bribe, so the players aren't going to bother with the reimbursement now". A fans' representative responded: "They're absolutely right not to reimburse us. We would have booed them had they actually given our money back. It would have been an outrageous attempt at bribery. We are however all going to attend the next training session just to make sure they're all giving 100%"
So then Rob as you dislike what I have said does this mean that you also disagree with what the players and your fellow fans have said?
