From the very small amount I've seen Greizman looks good and is still young would be a good option as a wide forward. Not sure how good his defensive work is though? Rakitic would be a good box to box replacement for Gerrard. Strong CM with an eye for goal. Playing further forward for Sevilla recently which is his stronger suit. At 26 would be in his prime and has plenty of experience.
Bayern is the only club I can see wanting him ATM but I can't see them paying anywhere near what we'd want.
I suppose that's a good thing though (the fee part) because surely we wouldn't be stupid enough too sell him for anything less than £80m?
The other question would be; is he at a all time prime right now? He's had the best season of his career to date, can he do it again or somehow get better? Or will he never repeat this year and therefore his value will decline? Are we bothered about getting the maximum for him? Is it more important to keep an individual than get the best financial outcome for the club? As a fan I know the answers to every single one of those. But what about as a business...?
They have Lewandowski for next season and Pep only plays one striker so I really cant see them forking out for Suarez.
its a funny one... they get a ban for signing players under the age of 18 yet complain most about english clubs poaching thier lads. I think its ok but does it affect players going out. no idea. in the end they prob will appeal but its moot as they have what they have don't they? its real we worry about!
Im not saying he wouldn't want Suarez, I just cant see them forking out 80-100 mil when the have already spent a lot over the last couple of seasons.
it should do as there is no deterrent then to not appeal, should be punished for wasting time if it fails obviously, so longer ban should happen. don't they have some bollocks with cards etc where players appeal just so they can play in certain games and not miss them? that's wrong, hope the rules have changed for that.
I can't see them paying what we want either, I said this above I believe Suarez will still be a Liverpool player come 1 September
That's what I was thinking, I mean if there was no punishment for appealing and that appeal failing then they may as well do it anyway.
remember by next year suarez will only need an fa cup medal to complete the set in england seeing as we beat the side who outclassed bayern we must be cl favorites too add it all up and why would suarez want to move ever
IF we sell him, we won't sell him to a team in The Premiership. Barca can't buy anyone for the next 15months Bayern have Levandoski on the way and on top of that, most likely can't afford to pay what we'd want. Leaves 2 or 3 teams, that could afford him. PSG and Real (at a push Monaco) PSG (and Monaco) may not appeal to him in the sense that being South American he may want a bit of La Liga action. So that leaves Real as the only real contenders, they could pay what we'd want and it being Real would appeal to Luis. All the above maybe moot anyway, he wants CL, we get 3rd then we have gaurenteed CL so he gets to show his skills on the biggest stage. He already gets paid handsomely, he claims now to be settled here... Not a betting man but I'd say 80/20 chance of Luis staying, unless Real come in with a bid soo stupid that we can't say no.
dont they still owe Spurs for bale? heard they do. If was the case i would like to hope our owners wouldn't be as stupid and say, either all of it now or not at all, as we would need the money to reinvest, my worry would be the owners justifying say getting £30 mill a year for so long from real and us not being able to do a lot with it. could always try and fob a couple of players off on us as well.
