It depends on the club and whether they want to kick this archaic behaviour into touch. If JT was a qpr player and did the same thing to another team I would not support him. BAE has put his comments into the public arena and as such any punishment he receives he must realise its his own doing. Its not to do with skin colour but with out of date beliefs and some clubs do right and some think of the money...
To be fair, Chelsea were nothing like as dreadful as Dalgleish and Liverpool's idiotic defence of Suarez. I don't know if you are right Queens, the thought that you may be is frankly too sickening to contemplate.
You've still not answered the question Krusty. Who do you want as Manager? You wouldn't get a more straightforward question at Kindergarten. Queens, quote this so that charlatan can see it.
Thank you for the replies. I did expect a slightly harsher response. its just something i noticed but based mainly on the information received 12K' miles away. of course it goes back to the club and thier stance on racism V money. I'd be intrested to know what would have happened had it been a top striker at a top 6 club. Imaine Kompany, Yaya, Sturridge etc did it. Do i think they would be banned?...not sure to be honest, but i'm willing to bet the press would have a field day.
Racism is completely unacceptable. Should be punished harshly whatever it's nature and whatever the ethnic origin of the perpetrator maybe. If in the case of the quenelle the subject is Israel let them go protest outside the embassy or get themselves over to Gaza or the occupied West Bank and support the Palestinian people instead of insulting jewish people purely on the basis of ethnicity. In this case give them the same ban as Anelka.

sorry queenslander these are two different things if i am not mistaken. john terry called ferdinand a black ****. this is commenting on the colour of his skin. which of coarse is a no no. anton did not choose to be black. what anelka did was critisis some ones belief which in my opion is a different thing all together. jews choose to be jews and with that they take on a history of things that jews have done wrong and the wrongs that have been done to jews. this is why i am not a big fan of relign on the whole. because quite frankly the whole thing is a bunch of hypricritacal ballshit. look at the whole middle east, it is a lot people killing each other because books written thousands of years ago. anelka should not have done what he did because we should all treat each other with respect. i dont think it is bad as what terry said. as for is the whole fa treatment bias towards us whites most likely. what would be intresting to see if a black player called a white player something and then see what happens
'Jews choose to be Jews' ??? f**k me, I've heard it all now. But then again it could start a whole new debate on here ......... 'Is Judism purely a religious choice or is it also belonging to a race of people ' ???. Actually.....we better not
Queens....we are not Chelsea, (I believe that not many are)....I hope that if one of our players had done that we would have thrown him out. JT and Chelsea and the Chelscum fans have a tendency to believe JT is bigger than the club...or at least JT is the club!!! I hope that we and the FA give BAE a fair hearing, and then we and the FA act appropriately. I have read a lot about BAE, and I respect him alot for views on the third world, and for his views on the world in general (he has annoyed me quite a bit on the pitch recently...but the two issues are seperate. I really want Harry to start playing Suk-Yung (before he gets p@@@ed off and leaves)....nut I also want to hear what BAE says in his defence..... The twitter remark was rather odd (ironic?) ""I congratulate you on the beautiful quenelle".
sorry but you can be born a Jew and not believe in Judaism and not be a Jewish any more. i was born into the faith of Christianity i choose not to believe in it. if i continue to believe that is a choice i have made. i just don't see the Jews as a race, because you can come from all over the world and be Jewish. unlike if you are black, you cant not be black any more. You would not call a Christian one race or Muslims a race. this is why i think this is different you are classing a group of people by their beliefs not the colour of their skin. i did not mean to offend any one. that's the way i see it. if i have i am sorry.
Sorry QLR...in this case you are wrong...and I quote in my defense of that no greater murdering dictator than Adolf Hitler...He massacred the Jews in the holocaust, and the Nazis did not ask....do you believe in the Torah and all it means...they just gassed anyone who had a Jewish ancestor...or in many cases just had a Jewish name.
Even atheist Jews identify themselves as Jewish, its a cultural, historical and, to some extent, genetic, inheritance. You can convert to Judaism, but I don't think its possible to renounce 'Jewishness', it would like me saying 'I'm no longer British'. I agree that people who choose a political or religious ideology are fair game and should be prepared to defend their beliefs, but gestures like the Quenelle are hardly adding to the debate, they are designed to incite hatred against people who have happened to be born into a particular group. I think you are being generous to BAE Beth in thinking he was being 'ironic' (sarcastic?). That's hard to achieve in a foreign language in that medium (its pretty difficult on here). If he disapproved of the gesture, why not just say so? He is either a malicious toad or an ill informed idiot. Either way I'm hoping the latter.
I know you're not meaning to offend mate, that's not your style. But if your argument is correct then it would mean that anyone who has the physical characteristics of a Jew, can somehow reinvent himself as a non-Jew, as it is purely a question of religious choice. I would argue against that.
The way I see it is that being a Jew is half a religious thing and have a genealogy thing. It's your race and your religion. Of course, just like a Hindu, the person may be born into that but he is free to define himself as he wants, just like anyone else.
The Jews should be told they can choose not to be Jews. I know a guy who'll give them the message:
maybe that's why he did it in French...? "Assou-Ekotto, on a season-long loan at QPR from Tottenham, took to Twitter in the wake of Anelka's salute to post what translates from French as: "I congratulate you on the beautiful quenelle". Think I'm with HR on this one: Redknapp: Benoit Assou-Ekotto should not be banned for âquenelleâ comments QPR boss Harry Redknapp says Benoit Assou-Ekotto should not be banned after being charged with improper conduct for social media comments relating to the âquenelleâ gesture. The left-back, on loan at Rangers from Tottenham, has until 8 April to respond to the Football Association charge. Redknapp said: âThere are four or five other players as well and theyâve not been banned, so I donât see why Benoit should be banned really.â Redknapp has defended Assou-Ekotto The quenelle sign is described as an inverted Nazi salute and Nicolas Anelka was banned for five matches and fined £80,000 for using it after scoring against West Ham in December, and was later sacked by West Brom. Anelka denied his use of the sign was intended to be anti-Semitic, and an FA commission reported it did not find he was âan anti-Semiteâ. The striker claimed he made the gesture in support of his friend Dieudonne Mâbala Mâbala, a French comedian who has been convicted seven times of anti-Semitic crimes. Redknapp added: âIâll be honest, Iâd be lying if I said I knew exactly what it was all about. Obviously there was a gesture Anelka made. âThereâs been several players that have come out and commented on it and he [Assou-Ekotto] is just one of them. âThe others have all been fined or whatever but not been banned, so I donât see why he should be the one that gets banned when the others havenât. âI donât know exactly what he said. I donât follow Twitter. I wouldnât have a clue exactly what he said â Iâll have to look at it before he gets a hearing or whatever.â http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-tottenham-hotspur-847221-redknapp-assou-ekotto-banned-quenelle-comments
Physical characteristics? I can understand Jews being defined by cultural and historical heritage rather than just religion, but I think you're on dangerous ground with physical appearance.
