Lol, that special bet was suspended as soon as Moyes released his team...it's dropped 10 points to 40-1

Well done Moysie.

I went for a small bet on Bayern Munich -1 handicap @ 23/20. I think that's pretty generous for a team as bad as Man Utd against potentially one of the best sides ever to play in the champions league & one of the most revolutionary managers in world football.

Given the choice at the start of the season I'd have taken European football for us. Would love us to be playing in EL this week in fact. Obviously, like you guys, we have higher aspirations too.

You underestimate how much non-English folk rate the competition either. Being in EL (rather them none) helps with signings players.

I've always said I'd rather be in EL than no Europe at all.

1) Helps attract foreign players who value European football, even if it's not the CL
2) Helps you bring on the young/fringe players by giving them extra game time
3) Keeps you're UEFA Co-efficient ticking over. No EL/CL football get's you 0 but even a half decent season in the EL get's you about 10 points. Makes a huge difference when you then get into the CL and your seeding.

Not strictly true as domestic performance counts too but its such a small amount it may as well be zero

Not something Man Utd need to worry about for the next 5 or 6 years at the very least <ok>
