Danny Welbeck is fast emerging as the England star player at this tournament with his 2nd goal in 3 games and a cracking header to add to the poachers goal last week

Each goal is another million added and a good reason why AFC want to hang onto this young lad. However, he has tasted EPL football and wont be happy on the bench or reserves now that's for sure.

Wonder if a £15m bid would tempt the Lord of Old Trafford, or are we too late?

Did you hear his interview on sky, SAF says I will get my chance but if not a loan or perm move would suit, I just feel he may be there for the taking.

I dont think its the lad we have to win round Syd its his Lordship. If Bruce can get SAF to loan him again for the year, or preferably buy the lad outright, I'd be ecstatic.

It will take a bid of £15m minimum, to make him think but then if Henderson was £19m, that would be about right.

As a sidenote, England have done the English thing and capitulated conceding 2 goals in the last min + stoppage time.

I blame Jordan.... <whistle>

I can't believe a team as talented as that lot could manage to have the dreadful tournament they had. It must be something to do with pulling on an England shirt and turning **** like the first team.

Henderson was awful again tonight I think we have robbed Liverpool. I think the only chance of getting Welbeck will be another loan.

Englands under 21's certainly emulating the full team, by making a ****ing pigs ear of tournament football.

Still, it does mean Welkbeck will be back home earlier and looking to secure his future for next year quicker. Maybe a meeting with SAF next week and a decision made the week after?

Bet Bruce is on the blower to BOTH right now.

Totally agree.

Some players in that side that already have bags of PL experience and a couple of real diamonds, Welbeck and Sturridge in particular IMO.

LIke you say, 3 lions = failure, sadly.

Rooney is staying.
Hernandez is staying.
Berbatov is likely to be staying.
Owen is staying.
Macheda is supposedly staying.

I can see us getting Welbeck back around deadline day. Not permanently but on loan like this year. Fergie will see how his squad cope in the first few weeks and we could well nip in there if he doesn't seem to be getting a look in.

Its thinking how much they earn that frustrates me. I would say Henderson or Jones alone probably earn more than the entire Czech squad put together. Same goes for the senior squad, Lampard and Terry will probably earn more than the players in the three teams in our WC group combined. Once they get on the pitch, half of them look like they'd rather be somewhere else.

There NEEDS to be a wage cap on the major leagues IMO. I know it might be slightly off topic but like you say that Czech side went out with a team who won't be earning nearly as much as a couple of our lads and yet they went there and got the win. Fair play to them.

Money turns footballers heads. Unnecessary distractions off the pitch destroy the talent on it. The whole English mentality MUST change if we are ever going to win any sort of tournament.

We did very, very well out of the Liverpool/Henderson deal. Good! They dumped Steven Wright and LeTallec on us a couple of years ago. I think Liverpool are in need of a LB--McCartney?? Stuart Pearce is a poor manager.. fitness coach, maybe. Devoid of tactical awareness. How on earth did Henderson (and some others) ever get capped in the first place?

Let's face it, England are doomed until the FA is overhauled and gets runs by professionals with the balls to shake up the Prem properly. Just when we think we've got a promising team, they screw things up....

That’s the difference - England never actually fields a TEAM but instead a group sometimes talented but defiantly over paid individuals who play for the money. This is only matched by their deluded belief that in some divine way it’s their right to succeed when the fact is, England never has while they’ve been alive.

makes a change, firstly the mags had their eyes out with 35m for donkey, then we chopped their hands off with henderson....

but saying that, if we pay 5m for n;gog, it will be proven once again, they are the masters of daylight robbery

don't forget the torres deal, the best heist since the micheal caine in the italian job.

I'm in the N'gog, he's definitely worth a shout camp.

As for England, it's typical and I agree with Geordie Dave -so much talent out there, but once again, no passion, commitment or team play. As for Jordon, he played no better or worse than he has for us for most of the season. Liverpool must be ****ting it - Caroline has hardly set the Cop alight either has he?

Agreed the money for Torres was over the top, probs his wages also, but I dont think the manager had a choice, nor do you, truth be told.
but you dont become a bad player overnight,,,, Do you?
