Re McDermott not being responsible for what the club pays his targets. That's true to an extent, but he wouldn't sign Burke because he thought he was too expensive. Ultimately he knows something about the budget he's working to, the costs of the player is a combination of purchase price and salary. What he spends on one impacts on what he can spend on another. He might not sign off on the deal, but he's not without a level of responsibility for it.
TNS is still very much posting on WACCOE. All links to his broadcast are getting taken down pretty quickly though to be fair! And was that really a fake call to Bates? Didnt sound like it! Do you read WACCOE billy? Its all laid out there for all to see and I'm convinced knowing the poster that he did indeed speak to both Bates and Cellino But I've been fooled before!
True to a certain extent, but who sets him the budget? Its a bit like someone taking out a bank overdraft to give me £200 for my birthday and because i spend it on crap, then blaming me for them being in debt. He's been set a budget and its not even his fault if he's bust that budget, if he has, he shouldn't have been allowed to sign anyone else. Thats not to say that i'm impressed with his signings, some of his tactics or the way we're playing, because i aren't.
i was genuinely excited at some of the players he brought in last year and even thought kebe would be a great signing. i guess i just got excited that we were actually spending transfer money for the first time in years and that i was very drunk for the whole of January. cellino said on the radio thing that he wants a coach not a manager. the next manager / coach will therefore be foreign as no british coach will work under these restrictions. bit of a long shot but i would not have minded seeing stuart mcall get a crack at it. I know he was terrible at bradford and his mullet is a shocker but at motherwell he has constantly produced despite his squad getting ripped apart every year. also a big leeds fan, so that may cloud my judgement a wee bit
They didn't think he was good enough buddy. Went to school with my brother and played football with him when he was younger. Mind they've made mistakes with a few players over the years, letting them go.
milky spot on ... McD actually saying he listened to interview is just daft ... sack him now!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Doc, don't think Ross should be captain but I doubt that has much to do with it. Rudy shouldn't be captain either and never should have been selected, I've said Pearce this whole season and nothing has changed my mind even his dip in form. I agree we can't blame Cellino or the takeover saga but our dip in form has been since christmas and that was when the haigh takeover was supposed to happen, since then it has been a shambles at the club. I think people are using that as an excuse for why we are doing so badly a bit though.
So we find out on Thursday or Friday whether Cellino has won his appeal. By all accounts the QC has already made his decision so can't really understand the delay. It must surely mean the appeal was successful otherwise there's no logical reason why the verdict hasn't already been announced. Unless it's simply to heighten the level of suspense Wonder if there'll be a drumroll beforehand
