Should we release a Cup Final song if we beat Sheffield?

Ehab will probably be given the task of coming up with a ditty. It's a great marketing opportunity. It could go platinum in China.

There are two rules if you get to an FA Cup Final:

    1) You have to make a song.
    2) It has to be ****, otherwise it's not a proper FA Cup Final song.

Do you have any thoughts on Henry P. I've seen him a couple of times and I don't understand what the fuss is about. His songs are OK; he's an OK singer; he's an OK guitarist. Nowt wrong with what he does, but there are plenty of other guit/vocs that I've seen locally doing their own stuff who don't get slots at high-profile folk festivals and who are just as good as him, if not better. It can't just be because he was in The Christians? Surely?

They're meant to be cringey - I could see this group having the sense of humour to make a cup final song.

Isn't Paul McShane meant to be like the Irish Vanilla Ice? perfect. Get him to do a cringey 'Go Tigers! Go Tigers! Go!' mock cringey version of this.... lol.

I absolutely love his first [solo] album to be honest and I've played it A LOT. I don't think the Christians thing is much to do with it (though it gets him a foot in the door I suppose), I think it's probably just as simple as him having catchy tunes, singalong choruses and a nice line in lyrical bitter-sweetness. It IS a great CD for singing along to in the car and whatnot...!

I haven't got the new record as yet but it's on the list and I'll be getting it soon. It's getting some astonishingly good reviews, it seems.

It was Kev Kilbane who did the Vanilla Ice thing, wasn't it...?

Yeah, but McShane has been in quite a few videos rapping on Tigers Player. I remember the season they did that 'player cam' thing for pre-season and they did a video of McShane rapping on a balcony.

    My lovely lovely lovely tigers

My lovely tigers (my lovely tigers). Running across the pitch (across the pitch).

Where are you going. With your stripes blowing in the wind?

I want to shower you with silverware. And you to maul all in your path. Polish your cups every single day. And watch you play.

    My lovely lovely lovely tigers.

My lovely tigers (my lovely tigers). You're a cub no more (you're a cub no more). Running around, with a stripe down your back, like a cat in the night...

Like a cat in the night. (saxaphone solo).

you can just see it, all the famous fans alongside the players singing out of tune - if it has to be a song I nominate Charlie1's lyrics to the tune.

Before the windowlicking Christians, Henry Priestman was in Yachts on the Stiff label back in 77 when it mattered.

Saw em at Tiffs in 78.

Ian Clark and Christopher Clark - 'Humber Bridge'

"Will they ever bridge the Humber
will they ever span it o'er
Is it always an exception to the rule
Is it such a privilege not to have a Humber Bridge
And to have to keep on going round by Goole"
