Nope if we were to build a new stadium, we would need land , which felindre has plenty of, we need to purchase said land, and then get consent to build a stadium, that would have to tie in with other ventures as well, such as a hotel, maybe a golf course or some other such things, in other words those businesses would pay for the stadium to be built, but I do think that place is not the right place for swansea city, you are taking the club out of the city imo

Three seasons before the first game at Liberty , there was almost no team in the Leagues . Since the team has played at Liberty , we've been unable to sell out over half the seats as season tickets & if not for the " Part time " regulars , we would have been sunk . Suddenly as we make the big time , the Stadium is to small . The Stadium is not to small , the fan base just got big with success .

Yes interesting interview there Mabon, fair play to Jenkins very good interview, and he suggests as we were discussing yesterday that it would involve east stand expansion!

No one PGF, only issue is because expansion was not built into the design, it will now cost the club a lot more to produce the extra seating, which is all down to the original short sightedness, that our previous chairman was referring to in this article dated 2009!..........

I saw that interview already, but the point is that will cost many millions of pounds because of the failure to include an upgrade option within the design of the stadium, so something that would have been relatively cheap to becomes a huge cost, it also confirms that seats can't be added within the infrastructure now, which is criminal , and makes the choices made in the planning stage even more incompetent!

I thought I had already answered that, or am I imagining you've asked me that before, all we want is to see the ground fit for purpose, which it currently is not, the plastic will disappear if we come straight back down, but if we don't then some of the Plastic might well hang around, more likely for the big fixtures!................

Agree Jager, seems it will be the east stand where the expansion will take place, as I surmised yesterday!.....

In truth, the prospect of Swansea reaching the Premier League was not on the minds of many during McClure's time at Vetch Field, which lasted from 1997 through to 2001.

Incompetence does not come into it. Reality does.

I am off to bed. If you want to build a 35000 seater stadium for when we play Barnsley in 2013 there is a pick and shovel outside The Liberty for you.

<doh> Am I missing something here PGF, whose interested in the Plastic they blow like the wind, not all of the increase will be down to plastic, and these new supporters could well be the base for growth of the club to the next level, anyway why do you think that Jenkins is waiting till next may??...........

Actually I want enough seats for anyone who can afford to pay, plus a few freebies for the kids to ensure the best revenue streams whilst also gaining a new generation of Swans fans.

in 1994 I was a 'plastic' fan that went to Wembley to see us beat Huddersfield. I stuck around ever since and have had season tickets for the past five years. So why not have 6k people watching us week in, week out that would not class themselves as Swans fans? By the time the year is done I'll bet on 2k of those continuing to support the club beyond that year.

Peter you are one hell of a lucky man! I know kalives well, always called in for a breakfast and swim before going over to Blue Beach ( Stavros - Zorba the Greek) for the rest of the day! the closest I get to Crete these days is a bottle of Retsina in Tescos, I started back packing out in crete in 1989 before Thomsons and the like arrived, when Amstel was 30 pence a bottle, and a room was £4.00 a night, shame they ditched the Drachma, prices went through the roof, maybe they will dump the euro soon, LOL, was last out there in 2006, used to go twice a year, June and September. By the way Almarida is just up the road from you, and you should get to know Georgioupolis it's close to you, you just take the road to Vamos over the mountain and down to Georgioupolis! best place on the island, by the way have you done the Samaria Gorge yet? great experience, but take plenty of water, 4 hour walk!
