Now you've got me thinking. It's too late for me to be arsed to check it but I think you're wrong. At the moment, our maximum potential is 89, and City's 91. If we beat them theirs drops to 88, but if we draw against Hammers, say, we're down to 87. Think that's right. I'll check tomorrow, unless someone else does it first.
I am very worried about the case of the ex, Carroll gave us a hard time when he was at Blackpool, cole and downing will prob have best games ever too...
Carroll will be up for it, looking to prove a point and we don't do well against target men. Fingers crossed we stop the supply and get 3 points.
My concern would be him attacking Agger as he doesn't fair well against target men. Anyway we'll give them plenty to worry about at the other end.
Good that West Ham won last night, they are not going to be under immense pressure if they had lost. Big Sam is going for attack because of boo fans which is going to be good for us.
Tough game for you lot. Fat Sam will pack out his defence and try stop you playing. I can imagine a fair few elbows and physical challenges, but you should win on current form. Probably 2-1 or 3-1.
Hahahaha go on the attack against you? You must be joking, West Ham would get torn apart. Expect a tight physical game.
Skrtel will target him. I wouldn't worry unduly, Donkey's scoring rate is about the same as Skrtel's anyway.
Got a bad feeling about this game. We don't normally do too well against the physical teams but I feel our attack will be enough to win us the game. Potential banana skin ...
i honestly cant tell which way this game is going to go, first 15 mins should give mean idea of how it is likely to go though. IF they are going to put men behind the ball, just hope we can get an early goal, as they will have to push forward then. we have been lucky so far with ex players, just hope that continues. #nojinx
Yes, you are right. I was looking at the two games in-hand forgetting it effectively becomes three if we draw as we'd have played another game.
well its kind of moot. i think yes you are right obviously but i feel there is a case for saying who blinks first. If we win this weekend then if city draw suddenly we can control the city game more rather than chase it. Its impossible to say so i think west ham is the game to focus on per everyone's sage advice.
West Ham winning yesterday gives me more hope for this game. Also big Sam wearing the stadium jacket under the blazer was ****ing quality!
I do think west ham by all thats holy will think they are safe. Its simply a question of how "up" they get for this one. If they feel this is too hard or really don't have to win thee will be some players who won't turn up for a 90 minute session with SAS allardyce's motivation stood out for the city cup games eh? I hop we get a good win but i think we need to focus more on our own form though
Will Carroll really be pumped up for this? He never seemed overly bothered about playing for Liverpool, and did not seems to mind being sold. I wouldn't say he really cares that much about anything other than playing for Newcastle.
