Man Utd are god awful, we're god awful... Inevitably this'll be a 12-12 cracker, with balloons and ye-ye girls <ok>

On a side note. I want Liverpool to win the title, because they've played the best football...

So many Newcastle fans have said this to me. Many of them the same ones who said they hated Liverpool but it was nothing to do with nicking Jose and Andy <laugh> I must admit I'd like to see them win, they have mullered loads of teams. Plus I will love the fact that despicable Suarez will have stuck it up all those who despise him. I just like a bit of controversy and a step down from some stuffy moral high ground. I wonder if old Gnashers will be rightfully given the player of the year award. He'll surely complete a clean sweep of the awards?

I was a hater! For the sole reason they seemed intent on buying our squad an reassembling it down in Merseyside, now there's defo no chance of that <laugh>

I'm really impressed by Rodgers' tactics though, and by the style of play, it's amazing to watch as a neutral. I realise not every team can have such great players, but I wish pennypinching owners and old fuddyduddy managers would just realise that this is all fans want to see their team try and emulate, make a really good attacking go of things every match... relegated Blackpool were a joy to watch, and I'd much rather watch us play with more attacking intent, even if we lost more games. Honest.

    Will you be going AB.
You don't get many opportunities to see the PL Trophy presented.

ps - I used to hate Liverpool, but that was because of 74' and them winning leagues, cups, year after year.
(I don't hate them anymore and sincerely hope they win the league).

I've been to all the rest so I might as well go to that one. Getting a bit fed up with it all though, it might be the last season that I'll be taking all the away games in.

They're just two points ahead of Chelsea so if we beat them it could be Chelsea that get the trophy.

Entertainment is the name of the game. I've said many times. I'd rather watch good football in the lower leagues than long ball in the PL. I can accept when things are not going well, most teams end up humping it a bit more. But when you are Sam Allardyce and your whole ethos is to get snow on the ball and play percentages then I can't be ****ed with that. Liverpool go all out to score goals and pass the ball. Everyone goes on about clear identities and having a clear system they play. Rodgers doesn't, he has employed about 10 different ones this season. 1 up front, 2 up front, 3 up front, 4 at the back, 3 at the back - you name it they've done it. The key thing is they have always looked to pass it on the deck and score goals. Quite simple really. Blackpool were like that under Olly. They wanted to score goals and play nice football. If they were going down, they were going down blazing.

No, what you're saying is they don't have a set tactic, but they do have an identity. They attack, attack and attack some more. They pick an area of weakness and go for it, Robbie Savage (loathesome little turd that he is) did a piece on Liverpool and he just said the same. They aim to move the ball quickly, play the ball into the space in front of a player (something Arsenal used to do) and work everything with attacking intent. They have scored more set pieces than any other club this season. All Rodgers realises is that if you're attacking, as we witnessed at St. Mary's, the opposition can't do a lot more about it. Tactics are just a part of enhancing your identity.

Pardew is a ludicrously limited one trick pony. He can put his strongest eleven on the field and hope they work harder than the opposition. It's very similar to Graeme Souness, who "didn't believe in tactics". We don't change personnel to suit the game, and play with any kind of identity. Even if our identity was fast counter-attacking, we should still be identifying WHERE to attack, with WHO and how to get the ball in the first place. We ended up with 3 fcking left backs on the field against Southampton, wtf kind of identity is that??

So how does Pardew not have a clear identity then? We look to play fast counter attacking football. To suggest he has no tactics or that he simply looks to work harder than the opposition is quite frankly bollocks. Our identity was very very clear earlier in the season. Use Tiote to break down play, use Cabaye to control our attacks and release our quick ball carriers in Sissoko/Gouffran/Remy down the wings. It was blatantly obvious and very successful. We lost Cabaye and lost some of identity because we no longer knew how to control the pace of a game, manouver the opposition where we wanted them and pick the passes to release our pace.

We're just limited in executing our identity.

Just think if Pardew uses our identity to beat Man U and do the double over them for the first time in 31 years, he could claim supremacy and go a long way to securing his legacy. I wonder if Mike has given him an ultimatum regarding this?

The team that beat Villa 4-1 v the team that were humiliated by Southampton last week, it should not be allowed it is outright cruelty, I have not heard anything for a while about finishing above Man U

Wonder what team Manure will put out on Sat against us knowing they must go to Bayern now with their strongest team if they are to get the semi-final spot?
