Have to say I think I have identified the perfect man to succeed Fabio Capello. Not only does this guy appear to have no tactical subtlety, but he also makes a a squad that looks very strong on paper look like a bunch of amateurs when playing. Throw in some pre match and post match clichés and a very limited vocabulary and I believe Stuart Pearce could be the man for England. The FA seem determined that the England team should be a haven of disappointment and underachievement and I can't think of anyone with a better CV than Pearce when it comes to that.

The scary thing is that the FA probably think he's good.

Don't know about you but I am bored of the reactionary criticism of England managers. Capello is a good manager, just look at his record of winning trophies. Most England managers are viewed as being rubbish by the press, maybe its not them who have the problem?

And yet in Capello's case, maybe it is.

He's got a great record at club level but England isn't a club and he is failing dismally in a job he is getting paid an obscene amount of money to do. I don't have the answer as to who should replace him but he is stealing money out of English football and should **** off as soon is as possible.

He's a hopeless, arrogant twat and whatever it is he's allegedly attempting is failing.

It's gone beyond a quick reaction now, and I know it's not all the managers fault but he's not doing a good job. Pearce is not doing well either and playing long balls from the back is pure England crap.

I think Harry Redknapp needs to be the next England Manager.

Don't act like that money is yours, no need to be bitter that he earns a lot. England are still almost certainly going to qualify for the euro's so I don't think he is doing that bad a job. Name one manager who could do a better job?

Thats because England's midfield is terrible in terms of ball possession and only Carrick, Wilshire and perhaps barry are any good at it. I'm not so sure that Pearce is a good manager but you can only compete with what you are given with and England's under 21 squad isn't exactly the best.

Pearce is crap. Bare in mind that this is the guy who sent City into a manchester derby with the sole intention of keeping the winning margin of United down. He's far too negative in his tactics and demeanour. Awful.

    Bitter? What the ****?

I'm not acting like the money is mine. What is annoying is that he is taking that money out of English football. It could be far better spent on other things, sorry if that wasn't patently obvious enough. There is no viable reason at all to pay someone that amount who brings so little to our national game. At all.

Is qualifying your bench mark or something? It isn't mine. Don't you recall how **** we were in the actual tournament last summer? How he went back on his own mantra of not picking injured players by picking a load of injured players? How he said he would pick players on form but took Emile Heskey and left Darren Bent at home.

He is stealing his living and deserved the sack after the world cup but they instead extended his contract, ridiculous. I said in my first post I don't have the answer and sleeping on it hasn't made me conjour anyone up. I would prefer Redknapp though, any day. He's English and he'd give a ****, Capello doesn't care a ****.

I think this is all a bit harsh on Stuart P. International football at U21 level is much more competitive than senior football.
There were a lot of 'big' nations that didn't even qualify (France, Italy, Germany).

The only gripe that is justified is the style of the football - I think Pearce wants to play a more possesion based passing game, but when you are stripped of your best player (Wilshire), the rest of the cupboard in midfield looks a bit light and it's not going to happen.

Until the larger football culture in England changes to promote technique over strength, we're always going to get the runaround from decent European teams.

Pearce wanted to play possesion football? Then at least stick the players that could actually keep hold of the ball on the pitch. It doesn't take a genius to work out that. Although it might to understand what formation he was playing last night.

There is NOTHING wrong with playing the "English" way. I don't understand why people are so hung up on trying to play football like the Spanish. They can only play that way because they have the players for that. It hasn't always been that way for them has it? You have to adapt in order to produce the results and you can't try and copy someone else's style if you can't pull it off. Granted, we have a few players that can play the "Spanish" way. Carrick and Wilshere to name two. But the whole team can't. You have to look at the team that was sent out last night- where was the strengths? Pace down the wings and delivery. Sinclair on the left and (should have been) Albrighton on the right. Sturridge and Welbeck and big and strong and can mix it up as shown by Danny's goal.

Football isn't hard when you get the basics right.

Doesn't Cappello have one of the best records as England manager?

Not really, he reached the finals of one tournament and got knocked out in the last 16. How is that one of the best records?
Eriksson at least got us to he quarters. Everything else is just irrelevant.

Sorry the bitter comment wasn't what I meant to say. I just don't think we should get worked up about someone earning a lot of money. And no only qualifying for tournament should not be what we are only aiming for but he can only do that much at the moment.
