I agree with lots of what you have written, nothing is black and white and many factors are involved in making the premier league a success. Your argument is based on the fact that changing our name will damage our club and potentially the game as a hole. It might, i don't know for certain. In my opinion it will not. Our game is full of name changes. It happens to all competitions every few years. I don't see why you think a club name will be any different. If all clubs changed over night i think you might have a point but i don't see that happening. Over the years our game has changed gradually, this just becomes part of our history and heritage. I haven't supported the club for 50 years. I have 20 years of service. 16 as a season pass holder. In that time i have seen our club improve greatly. I am lucky and proud to have seen the club rise through the leagues. We are the best we have ever been. My affinity to the club has not changed. If the name change goes through i will still buy my pass and support my team.

Or that the council is not his main motive. I refuse to believe that AA would go this far just to piss off the council. It makes no sense to me. Like you say the council wont care.

Was this just not for leverage to get the KC?

Refuse to believe anything you like, it won't change the fact that it's true.

I know it, the Premier League know it and I suspect the FA know it too.

That's an impressive amount of bollocks for just one single post.

    Nice one.

If AA could raise the funding to build a stadium/leisure and retail development at Melton, he'd be building it already.

Yes it does, i think Ehab had a point the other day when he said the tiger in marketing has a value. That is the reason it is used in many advertising campaigns. It makes more sense than him trying to upset the council with something that wont bother them.

    Agreed.

Same as the other pro name changers. It's all about believing the bits you want to to suit a contrary view.

Then why has literally nothing come out to support that it will have any value?

    Oh wait... because it won't.

Also, a tiger in an advert is not going to make me buy the product ffs. If I want a packet of McCoys, it would be because the crisps are nice, not because of a ****ing appearance of an animal.

Unfortunately it is true. This was reiterated to me only yesterday, by a person to whom AA personally told it to at the time. It is his primary motive and is so stupid that it is very hard to believe or understand.

But we're already The Tigers. Why would it need to be in our playing name for them to see the link?

Plenty of clubs have partnerships with sponsors and none change their name.

    This is the best bit:

Our game is full of name changes. It happens to all competitions every few years. I don't see why you think a club name will be any different.

I don't think our nick name is widely know globally, adding it to the name would make sure it is written on league tables and everything the media puts out involving us.

Nobody knows for sure either way. But Hull City AFC have been a failure for most of its 109 year history. The fact that we are having the best season ever and that has been made possible by the money from AA should at least allow the bloke who saved our club a chance. The only reason the FA will say no is to stop the floodgates of other owners. You really think they care about fans of Hull City ? No way.

I was thinking the same about you. By the way i can see both sides of the argument and remain far more open minded about it than you and your biggoted thinking.

    Utter clap trap ^^^^ this.
You dont know that so stop making out that you do. As the owner he can do what he likes and AA has far more experience and proven experience at making money than You do or ever will have. Until he tries then we dont know which was the point being made.

What happens if Liverpool and Man Utd. are sold in the next five years and the new owners want to shorten their names to Liverpool Hawks and Man Utd Devils. Probably won't happen but it definitely could if a maverick billionnaire decides to waste his money. Do you think that fixture sounds as attractive to a tv audience in Shanghai as Liverpool v Man Utd? Do you think that the tv executives buying the games would find it as attractive?
