TBF it's also a club where below average players can get themselves above average wages

It's now more likely that Suarez will stay. But if he did go then we would be looking for say 2 players to replace him and not have to go on a complete re-building programme. We want to win the league to re-establish our credentials. I doubt that it would be deal beaker if we didn't as we are almost cemented in CL for next season and will probably not have to qualify.

I really doubt that we will need to go on a Spurs style player spurge. We will add quality but we will probably not need to use them all straight away as Spurs did.

We play on a Sunday again this week so will know our rivals results well in advance. Can't help think that this is a big bonus for us again, if either Chelsea or City drop points against in form Stoke or Southampton respectively, it gives us one hell of an incentive to win and open up a bigger gap.

Oh, and I think that at least one of those two will drop points again <ok>

I think personally this week is all about 3 points and preparing for the big game to come after it. whatever the others do we must win this one and then progress on.

If we see city say draw a game.. and we win.. well it opens up a whole raft of possibilities for us to control games more. I almost, almost prefer us needing to win them all than us ebing able to "control" and set up differently v city and perhaps lose it.

Its hard to say... I just wish this year would never end honestly. its great.

rather we had to win games to be honest, i see complacency creeping in if we was in a control games type scenario, rather we kept it the same way we have with the high intensity , but it would be a real test if we had to do more of what sunderland put us under for the remaining games.

that would come under us being under massive pressure, and if our defence came out on top then, would we see some of the ****ers in team of the season :bandit:

    Rofl, calm down sweetheart ;)

When i mentioned spurs I was referring to the possibility of suarez being sold for big money and the money being used on the level of player just below the top level or on too many players resulting in a drop down the table. Don't see why this is such an outrageous observation? In the same sentence I also said you could also still improve even with Suarez leaving.

Seems you got your knickers in a twist for no reason...

P.s. For anyone who jumps in and tries to argue that Suarez won't leave, that isn't the point I had made in my post. I simply stated it would be interesting to see how your summer turns out and that the league and Suarez will have an impact on that.

To late for you to backtrack now, you assumed that because your club can't attract the talent needed to win trophies that our club can't, otherwise you wouldn't have had such an aloof view.

Your club are perennial none winners and can't keep hold of your talented players, we haven't won any silverware for a couple of seasons and probably won't this season (#nojinx)but we've certainly caught and overtaken clubs this season that were way ahead of us last season.

Back track? All I did was reiterate the point I had already made since you seemed to have so overwhelming taken it the wrong way. Instead of realising you hadn't understood you've continued your rant.

I hadn't assumed you can't attract the talent needed to win trophies, I simply stated that whether Suarez stays and your final league position will have a bearing on what you do and in the hypothetical that Suarez leaves it opens up the possibility of strengthening the squad or pulling a spurs. It was a simple observation. I'm not sure why you've taken it so personally tbh lol.

P.s. I'm not going to get into an arsenal vs liverpool slanging match lol, it serves no purpose and is irrelevant to the discussion that was going on. Seems ab it odd that you reacted that way!

That's sound kidda, just seems odd that as an Arsenal supporter you assume to have an opinion about us yet when I compare your points to Arsenal you don't want to tango.

Bit yep let's leave it there eh.<ok>

Think I would take a WHU win today, let them feel more comfortable and they can afford to lose against us. <ok>

Just discovered it - tobes beat you to it by a few hours, it's got a lot to do with him as well [not] - although if you read the thread you'll see one of the Hull lads say scousers have no sense of humour at which tobes jumps in with 'you mean kopites, not scousers' - and the lad says 'no I mean scousers' [paraphrasd] - epic <laugh>
