worth the outlay as we would get it back from increased revenues from trophy wins and shirt sales etc
Would anybody be up for trying to sign Deulofeu from Everton ? He's really skillful and direct going forward and great taking on defenders he reminds me a little bit of Overmars. Ozil would relish feeding him and Walcott. Also he's still only twenty and only on loan at Everton.
On his showing this weekend yes, but I havnt seen a lot of him and he isn't 1st choice for Everton, so no.
Dealofeu looks a quality player. He's been trained at barca and looked good when I've seen him for Everton. But he doesn't seem to be a sure starter. Is this due to his age and inexperience or that he is a loan player, or?
Wish list.A good quality left winger, defensive midfielder, two quality strikers and a right back, and a central midfielder. So 6 world class quality players that we will probably never get!
Agreed. I think that in terms of skill and passing, we have a very good set of midfield players but we need to add more grit. Wenger seems to have a penchant for buying mentally weak players.
don't think we need that many players. we got pretty close this season, just failed due to injuries and a lack or attacking options. a proper left winger, one world class striker (giroud can play back up with the youngsters), a holding midfielder at the next level to flamini and probably a few defenders seeing as sagna and vermaelen are likely to leave.
I would tend to agree with you but for the fact that we have been saying that for a few seasons. We have a great squad, if fully fit. However, we seem to always have two or three key long term injuries and never seem to have adequate back up. I can see the points being made about spending and bringing in more players to cover the squad but I can also see he arguments that we still need to control our finances. Wenger now needs to concentrate on handing over a fighting and fully fit squad to his successor in the next couple of years or so.
A superstar striker (my preference cavani), a proper lw option (my preference di Maria) and an upgrade on Arteta/flamini (no particular preference though both the benders look good and there are other options out there as well). Then we only need to replace any defenders who leave though I hope both Sagna and verm sign new contracts. We don't need to add loads and loads of players. The core is there for a great team it just needs some finishing touches.
Interesting that his name is still being linked to all these top clubs, despite him just playing one game all season due to injury, and he has still not recovered. Being out for an entire season is some set back, so not sure why that many clubs would be willing to risk paying £20 Mil plus for him.
Crumbs, he picked up a season long injury after just one game at another club! Imagine how long that'd translate into were he at Arsenal?! Diaby-esq at the very least. For those who don't remember Abou Diaby is a player who played for us in the early 1920s but has been injured ever since. Tragic. I don't think I can stomach the transfer window coming. Every time I refuse to pay attention to the rags and every time I get suckered in at the death and have my heart broken! I might just go into hibernation until it's all over. Yeah it'll mean I miss the first few games of the season but I think for my mental health it's best in the long run.
The Metro have an interesting headline today http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/01/zenit...t-colour-to-reinvigorate-arsenal-man-4684258/
Wouldn't be against it if a replacement of similar quality was bought in, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that
