There goes David Moyes excuse number 8625 then. According to OPTA stats David Moyes has the 4th youngest squad of players in the division. Arsenal, Saints and Liverpool the only sides above us. Average Age - 23.85 years. please log in to view this image He'll need a new excuse now. Any ideas? Perhaps the squad is now too young?
yes. Liverpool have the youngest squad. Theres half a year between United and Liverpool and we will have the youngest next season when we lose Rio, Vidic, Giggs etc
Those stats are last years, mind. Could be completely different this year. Utd's players have all aged +1 year and nobody else has, that's the problem Moyes has.
Depends what is defined as "squad". If it is all the players registered at the club and able to play for the first team then Man Utd's average age will be lower due to them having a big youth setup.
Have Man Utd boosted their homegrown figures by using youngsters? I wouldn't imagine so with Rio, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, Jones, Carrick, Rooney, Cleverley, etc. In fact, I just named enough I guess the ones in bold are fairly young, plus the likes of japseye too. Perhaps its just misleading with you guys having Rio, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Giggs, etc.
