If they can hold out it will be an amazing achievement. I've applied to do the coverage for RH next year
Has not Gwilym Lloyd not been lined up for that ? As for NFU, it could all well boil down to the next 2 weeks. Telford v. Altrincham on saturday 5th april and Altrincham v. North Ferriby on saturday 12th april. 2 massive games which could well settle or at least go along way to sorting out who finishes top.
telford play their game in hand at guisley tomorrow (i think). ferriby could be two points down going into the weekend. watch out for altrincham on the rails. games in hand
At what point would AA have to give up having any connection with them? When they get to the football league or in the conference.
Interesting, don't know, can they play in the same cup competitions? Will they have to change their name to get better sponsors?
This. AA has no formal connection to NFU as far as was publicised. If he did, unless they've changed the rules I think he's allowed up to 9.99% stake in another club without issue. (although it might be that you can have 9.99% in more than one club, so long as you don't have more than that in any of them, in which case it would be an issue)
Spot on. It's Steve Forster who owns North Ferriby United, who is AA's son in law. AA himself has bugger all to do with Ferriby, it's entirely Steve's venture. It's not like he needs money, Eon Visual are doing rather well. Great result last night, with Telford getting smacked it puts Ferriby one step closer to the Conference and some real money spinning ties. It's a shame that the away fans will out number the home fans, but maybe over time NFU can start building up a solid following.
Unfortunately, they're always going to have an issue with support, they're less than seven miles from a Premier League club.
I'd have thought that would be a positive thing, all the football fanatics in the area will think of them as their cool as **** little brother and head there when they're not @ city.
I didn't dislike your post Hattie, I'm just a clumsy bastard. I'm sure some will pop along for the novelty value, particularly when City are away, but the numbers will always be a bit limited.
Even when Ferriby hit the dizzy heights of the FA Vase final at Wembley 96/97 season there were only a few thousand of us went. Be nice to see them get promoted this year.
Nobody saw a 6-1 loss for Telford coming. Now Telford are @ home to Altrincham this saturday another team who could reach top spot. Ferriby home to Stockport County. So the gap could be wider come 5pm with a draw and NFU win. Correct. No issue at all with AA. Hubby is the money man. If NFU can play there home games when City are away then gates will improve to 4 figures for sure. The likes of Grimsby Lincoln Halifax to name just 3 will bring a few hundred. I can see SOLD OUT signs going up for some games. Plus NFU will get TV money as well. Where Hull City can play a part is loaning our best kids to them on a "We Pay and You Play them" basis. The likes of Topliss and Clappison need to be playing at a much better standard as examples. 2014/15 season looking good already.
