Well done Swans. A pity that certain journos at the 'national' paper of Wales - Western Fail can't offer a well done . They are asking politicians Peter Hain and Carwyn Jones to curb their enthusiasm..getting carried away the cardiff press are saying....baffling ? Not when you realise there is a cardiff-centric attitude that prevails in certain quarters of the Welsh media and the political corridors of the Senydd. All cities , Swansea and Cardiff have their fair share of issues. Politicians and certain press can over-egg,criticise or spin a story as they think appropriate. But this is a huge sporting success for Swansea, West Wales and Wales. There's a great wave of positivity for the city of Swansea now. So plesae Cardiff, less angst and jealousy . Cardiff has a thriving shopping mall or two. Swansea has Gower on it's doorstep - some of the most beautiful beaches in the British Isles are here, it has one of the fastest growing marina quarters in Britain and...a tidy football club ,... a premier league football club.
yea that article really annoyed me. Was going to post it up here, but thought twice. ignore it is best
I hate how biased they are, I really hope that Swansea will get priority commentary on Radio Wales rather than Cardiff this year!!!
I watched the BBC Wales news on Friday evening too see what they had to say about the first Welsh club's fixtures in The Premier League, to be greeted with a 5min interview with Cardiff's new manager Malky "Bloody" Mckay and what he was going to do etc!!!! and we get a lousy 1min run through of our opening fixtures.
I have been up on the bbc The shocking and flagrant disparity on Swansea coverage to cardiff riles me to **** so I choose to not watch the ****e... Even that ****ing weatherman pisses me off!! I have written countless emails asking them (BBC) why they are so biased and I have yet to receive a reply. Its not just football, jobs go in Swansea, Bridgend etc etc and they want to "centralise" everything at Cardiff. Does my head in and if it wasn't for the Swans I would be trying to move to Oz. I love Swansea, its just a ****ing shame its in the UK
My attitude towards Cardiff as the centre of Welsh government is of disdain, the way the powers to be during the referendum acted to decide the location of the assembly was a stich up once they decided to have another vote to get the result the Cardiff mafia wanted and since then not just us but other parts of Wales have been treated as second class citizens . I've never voted since and don't intend to in the future regarding the assembly .I'd rather take my chance with central government ( at least I expect to get screwed by them ,so it comes of no suprise when I am)
Couldn't agree more Bonymaen The rest of the country has been getting slowly starved of investment and jobs. The fact is that in their (assembly) attempts to develop Cardiff into a metropolis of opportunity they are systematically wrecking the rest of the country!!
Democracy, a method of government to ensure we are governed no better than we deserve... George Bernard Shaw Paraphrased more than quoted there!! Politicians are more concerned with lining their own pockets than listening to the people these days.
"Sometimes i wonder if we shall ever grow up in our polotics and say definite things which mean something, or whether we shall always go on using generalities to which everyone can subscribe, and which mean very little.".................Eleanor Roosevelt.
