I think the sticking point to poch staying is keeping our yiungsters. Shaw stays = poch will sign a new deal
I said they were interested. He may have chose us for better wages or because he knew he'd get more game time.
Shaw seems intent on staying...being quoted recently about needing to sign MP to a longer deals and keep all those players linked to other teams.
Mauricio Pochettino: "The first thing is that I still have one more year on my contract." "The second thing is that we still have six games until the end of the season and we are trying to focus as much as we can to get the maximum number of points out of those games." "Third of all as first team manager I am always focused on the team and the game ahead." "I am also working in a calm manner and I am open to discuss with the board whenever it's convenient and necessary the future but I think there is still time until that happens and I am always open to discuss with the board whenever it's necessary in the future."
Ah, you mean this one. Nice article: http://www.theguardian.com/football...emier-league-matchreport?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487 With all this talk of Rooney not being World Class [according Messrs Joey Barton and Me], then Lallana and Shaw presumably are. I think Adam certainly is, but I'm biased. Luke does have the attributes, and he played an absolute blinder on Saturday, but is Poch really telling me that there isn't a significantly better LB out there..? I must admit, nobody springs to mind, save Baines, and Shaw is comfortably the better defender now, ridiculous as that might read.
I don't know how people define "world class", but Rooney is one of the world's top ten strikers for me, and he puts in more work than the other nine combined.
He was brilliant against Bayern the other night on the rare occasions he was able to get on the ball, despite getting absolutely no support from his team mates.
Yeah but he.. um... I don't know, you can't even use his scoring record against him, I really don't know why so many people are turning on him.
Because thuggish appearance, smoking, prostitutes, and other things which have nothing to do with football.
Speaking of world class, I know it's only the Mirror, but interesting if its true... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southamptons-england-world-cup-cert-3302971 EDIT: Oops! Didn't see that Guardian article. This one more or less says the same thing, but not as well.
Because smoking is exactly the image a "world class" athlete should be giving, and obviously has no effect on performance or general health. With you on the other things!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say smoking probably hasn't affected his ability to play 90 minutes of football.
