The games against Arsenal do give me a tiny bit of hope, as if it was 11 v 11 for both games Arsenal could well have turned them over. The teams they are thumping in the Bundesliga are not strong sides, even we put 9 past Leverkusen home and away in the group stages, and there currently in 3rd place in Germany, so what does that tell you about the rest of the dross in that division. Not saying Bayern aren't an exceptional team because they are, but I wouldn't be getting to carried away with the way they beat sides in Germany, as I don't think the Bundesliga as a whole is anywhere near as strong as the PL or La Liga. The fact that Bayern buy the 2nd best team Dortmunds best player every season, tells you everything you need to know about the lack of competition in the division
We started very fast against Bayern and sort of the caught them out, because I do not think they were used to teams taking the game to them (especially this season), but after 20 or so mins they woke up and started to ping the ball around. One piece of good news for you lot is that Thiago is out injured, I thought he was brilliant against us and looks like the next Xavi. If you can manage to get beyond their midfield, I think you can get at their CB's. Boateng and Dante are probably the weakest players in their line-up.
The more injuries for them the better, the player I worry about the most though is Robben. I really don't think Butner will be able to handle him. Rafael on the other side against Ribery doesn't fill me with much confidence either. Our wingers are gonna have to put in a real shift, to make sure the fullbacks aren't left 1v1 to often
Yep, that's what makes them special. Having real wingers with pace in your teams really does open up the pitch and stretch the opposition and allows the likes of Gotze,Kroos and Thiago to work their magic. One of your main problems has been the lack of pace and quality wing play this season, and that has also been one of our problems.
