I think we just need to put a very tasty bid in for Adam Lallana. Not dick head, career cripling, Andy Carroll money, but enough to get him. Offer Joe Allen in return, and kill two birds with one stone. With Wisdom, Pepe and Suso coming back, we are not desperate for anything else.
In essence he would be an upgrade on Joe Allen - a major one though. Fully agree that we should get him but Southampton aren't likely to sell a star asset for cheap when they're going through a rough patch with chairmen/DOF's. They'll want to keep him as a way to attract some stability. Not saying its impossible just that we cant send Ian Ayre in to negotiate. I'd rather go for proven quality for that CM role to replace Gerrard when he's out.
Lallana will cost £20m+. IMO he's not really what we need so would only be a squad option, that sort of money should be buying immediate first team quality.
If we could get £12m+ for Allen then I'd agree but you'd have to put a shotgun barrel to Brod's head first!
Would love us to try for Costa, even if he may go for the money at the chavs. He can play up front or out wide.
I agree, I think 4 signings 2 from Swansea and 2 from Southampton will go a long way... Davies, one of the best young LBs in the country, he's not English hence the reason he doesn't get as much press as Shaw (who is bloody good mind..) De Guzman, not sure we would need to deal with the Swans for him, is he not on loan from Valencia? Prem proven, won't cost too much but would be a quality addition to the team/squad Schneiderlin, cheaper but just as good as Matic IMHO, and Rodriguez, decent 3rd choice striker behind Suarez and Sturridge. All players that would fit into the BRod model, All Prem. proven #jmho
agreed. i want messi and ronaldo... we'll bench ronaldo to anny the mancs and play messi.. in support of sturridge... if he don't like it... tough.
I'm not that sold on lallana... he's decent but not sure he's all that compared to what we have.... but he'd be less risk than a konoplyanka.... its hard to know. do we buy someone cheaper but with potential to be better if they work out or do you shovel money at southampton?
Liverpool are preparing a summer bid for Southampton's 24-year-old centre-back Dejan Lovren after missing out on the Croatia international last year. Yes or no?
not seen enough to comment, be nice if the saints could keep hold of all their players, if they do i reckon Europa football maybe next season is on the cards, as they have a manager who likes to play the game how it should be played. i know they would probably get good money for shaw and cant remember other one cheslea wanted, but would they spend the money wisely or lose something from the team?
don't know. he's good. i like him and i think he'd be close to top 10 cbs overall this season given he's played all year... however... is he better than... kind of arguement. What is in rodgers mind re players. has sahko done anything or settled etc, is he no 1 choice next year. Has skertl made himself undroppable... is toure going... is agger? what about coates the forgotten man, can we shift him.. what about ilori the man raved about over a few long balls If offered at a small price sure ok... but it would posisble not be my priority until i know more about who are the senior 4 players we can rely on.
Southampton may be looking to sell some stars I guess: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26813363
shame, would like to see them go into next season with the same team. they can get some decent friendly fixtures hopefully get the attendance/revenue up etc, like AC Milan,Ajax etc. £27 mil is a lot still owing for transfer fees though, just hope they can get full value if they have to sell. wonder if they will be getting any + £1 bids
the person who inherited the club is not mad. the previous guy was spending a lot chasing something so if they are either(i hope) more sustainable (or more likely) selling up.... we there could be bargains about.
