Have only conceded two. 1 against Everton, and today against City, that's not bad. Disappointing though that we didn't beat United, and with a better striker, we could have beaten Chelski 1-0. Those extra 4 points would've done us real good right now!
That's the real difference, we didn't score and take all of the points. Today again we could have won that game against City with a clinical striker. Let's hope Wenger addresses it properly this summer, because it could make all the difference between first and fourth, seeing as the league is so tight.
Today was unlucky, Podolski's strike was good, unlucky not to go in, even when Hart saved it, it still could've gone in, it was just a really good save with some added luck for Hart. On the other hand, Shezny made a great save on Dzeko's shot, but the ball bounced off the post into Silva's feet, **** happens. It was one of those, rather than down to bad finishing.
We already knew it, but Giroud's stats against the top teams really is ****e. I think he has three goals in all the games he has played against the top 7. We so badly need a new CF next season.
Agreed. Pod was really unlucky that didn't go in and as you point out, Szcz made a good save from Dzeko's shot only for it to rebound straight into Silva's path.
Youcould argue that itll be the 5 goalsconceded to swansea and villa at home that will cost you thetitle
we drew at home 1-1 with City and Everton, 0-0 with Manure and Chelski, drew 2-2 with Swansea, and lost to Aston Villa in first game. thats 13 points we wasted. even if we had different results against Manure/Everton/Swansea/Villa we would 9 points better off. we started season with 1 striker, which was mental. he was never going to be able to play all season. not adding another striker in january was absolutely ****ish we need to buy 2 first class strikers to add to attacking squad of theo/giroud/pod/sanago/campbell we have no depth in squad when we get injuries to first choice players so we need to invest in pacey winger to cover theo, defensive player to replace arteta, box to box player to replace yaya toure [my bad we didn't actually buy him when he was a trialist], and cover for CB and RB
Look on the bright side - if you'd lost both the matches with us 1-0 then we'd be 4 points ahead of you....
you need to look on the bright side - next year you might get 5th place. by the way we did beat you in both games
and just in case you have forgotten the score in the FA Cup [we also beat you in that] here is a photo of Theo reminding you
You cant just pick the home games though. titles are decided home and away and against the top7 and top4 Arsenal haven't been good enough to win the title. Certainly good enough to challenge and maintain the TOP4 position but win it, no! TOP7 Mini-league: Played W D L Pts Chelsea 11 7 3 1 24 Man city 10 7 1 2 22 Liverpool 10 6 1 3 19 Arsenal 11 3 4 4 13 Everton 9 2 3 4 9 Spurs 12 2 3 7 9 Man Utd 11 1 3 7 6 TOP4 Mini-league: Played W D L Pts Chelsea 5 4 1 0 13 Man city 5 2 1 2 7 Arsenal 6 1 2 3 5 Liverpool 4 1 0 3 3 However on the bright side its a slight improvement on last year, especially the TOP4: Pld W D L Pts Chelsea 12 6 4 2 22 Utd 12 6 2 4 20 City 12 4 5 2 17 Everton 12 3 6 3 15 Spurs 12 4 3 5 15 Arsenal 12 2 5 5 11 Lpool 12 1 7 4 10 Pld W D L Pts Man city 6 3 2 1 11 Chelsea 6 3 1 2 10 Man Utd 6 3 1 2 10 Arsenal 6 0 2 4 2
I love the fact that an article was made about our good home form to draw attention away from the poor away form against the top teams. I.e. At least we can do it at home and away is where we really need to improve. Then you post a long reply saying it's not about the home games. Think the thread may have gone over your head, though unless you've been hanging around a lot on our board you may not have realised.
Glad you chose top 7. We got 8 points from Everton (you're welcome by the way) and Man Utd - 2 wins 2 draws. Against the top 4 we didn't compete this year, just a solitary point against Chelsea. The mini league is a little unfair on Pool as they have two games to play and both are at home. THat league will only be instructive after those games.
Your welcome, It was really in reply to some posters suggesting that with a bit more luck at home you could of won the league. And to be fair i didn't mention "Flat track bullies". I have now though
i looked it up in Oxford English Dictionary: ****ish - adjective meaning the non purchase of a first class striker in a transfer window despite common wisdom that you need to. from the latin word Stubbornarsene meaning to not do what is expected when it is required.
