I don't think Pool are as good as their results make them out. Any team given a 2-0 lead at home is going to be difficult to beat! I think next year when they have to contend with European games they will be challenged to a much greater extent. This year not have they been able to concentrate on the PL, they've also been relatively injury free on top of a relatively thin squad. Next season there will be a lot of commentators saying "why are Liverpool not as good as last season"? In fact they might be exactly the same but not get the same results.
It's true though. Under AVB we had a structure to the team and a game plan. Don't get me wrong, it was far too rigid and didn't work either but under Sherwood the common theme has been 11 players running around and hoping it somehow comes good. Today is just another example. It tends to work against sides we're better than but there's no nous there to beat the top sides.
I wonder if Sherwood is regretting all that pressure nonsense attempt at mind games before the game. Its he as an individual who is under the most pressure.
According to the laws that would be too separate yellow card offences so he had the choice of failing to spot it or sending him off.
He's not under any pressure. He's already on the way out! I'm sure he'll throw the blame around at absolutely everyone but himself, anyway.
And Sky commentators wetting themselves over a possible minor injury to Suarez when Lloris was laying prostrate on the turf with a possible head injury.....
Yes - it didn't work so well that we got the most points we ever got despite clearly not having our best ever team
Not at all, but it is the detractors who in fact do not seem to have any sense of balance. I would suggest, in the unlikely event of us scoring 4 before the end of the match, that there will be many posters on this board suggesting that we were lucky and that it just papers over the cracks instead of enjoying such a victory. I'm not saying that it doesn't, I'm just saying that if you don't enjoy the wins then what's the point?
I don't think he's under pressure, he's got nothing to lose. If he doesn't get the job(he ****ing better not!) then he goes down a couple of divisions to prove himself, as nearly every novice manager does. I didn't see what he said though, apart from that the pressure is on Liverpool because you're in the title race wheras we only have anoutside shot at top 4.
Yeah. I actually don't mind him (well until his pre-match comments which pissed me off anyway) but he does come across as arrogant - yet amateur at the same time!
Henderson hurls an aggressive volley of abuse at Dowd - nothing. Dawson protests a Suarez dive - Dowd calls him over and laws down the law. 4-0. More joke defending.
This is embarrassing now. Anyone still feel Sherwood should be given more time? CORRECTION: anyone still feel that Levy should be in charge of finding and hiring our next manager?
